I have been working at Balchem full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Growing company
Lots of potential in existing markets
    Potential for career progression
    Bright spots in middle management
Used to have good work/life balance

    Cons

    CEO completely out of touch
    Entrenched/incompetent senior management
    Poor employee morale
    Disorganized and poorly structured
    Inconsistent/unfair compensation
    Toxic work environment
    Career progression not a focus
    Cronyism is rampant

    Advice to Management

Engage your work force and show that you care about people's careers. When leaders are detached, checked out and don't appear to care, how can you expect different from everyone else? Hire a good outside consultant to assess and fix the organizational structure; the company is its own worst enemy.

I have been working at Balchem full-time

    Pros

Balchem is a growing company that is innovative and has diverse business units. The CEO is constantly looking for opportunities to grow the business segments. Great coworkers, flexibility on work schedule when needed, opportunity to advance from within, dynamic atmosphere, and decent pay. Great benefits.

    Cons

As with most business today, the work life balance could use some attention. As the business grows, the workforce does not grow as quickly. Employee training is not as important as it has been at other companies I have worked for and could use improvement.

    Advice to Management

Consider paying attention to the work-life balance more as well as investing in employee training. This is especially important as the company expands and becomes larger. Investing in your people shows that you value them and their efforts.
