I have been working at Bally Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Received regular paychecks, but promised raises never occurred and if a raise did come, it did not keep up with cost of living.

    Cons

All buyers were put in a bullpen like animals. No privacy to do your work, people would talk at whatever volume they wanted. Everyone had to wear headphones to block out the noise of other workers. Our mManager claimed this helped communication. It helped people interrupt but didn't assist us in communication or being able to focus on work. It felt as if you were under constant scrutiny and even bathroom breaks were monitored.

    Advice to Management

If you hire and tell employees that they will be given raises to at least meet COLA, then pay that to the worker, don't buy out a new company and terminate people to allow you to afford the buyout and remove duplicate positions, then fight them for the lousy few dollars they might collect on unemployment that they already fairly paid for out of their wages. It is Unemployment Insurance, not a GIFT from your company. People need that to survive on until they can get another job after you terminated them due to terminating them due to your buyouts and coming up with excuses to terminate the employee that had been loyal to your company.

I have been working at Bally Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Independence. Job security. Flexibility. Travel.

    Cons

No training. No advancement. Under paid. Poor communication. Too much travel.

    Advice to Management

Document procedures. Equip your engineers so they can test the products. Empower employees to share knowledge, procedures, and client data. Too much guessing and rolling the same boulder up the same hill day after day.

I worked at Bally Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The biggest pro is how transparent they are. With most larger companies this isn't so much of a pro but I found it nice to know how invested every employee was with the company.

    Cons

Horrible hours, management didn't ever understand human limitations or when people were overworked or annoyed at certain upper level personnel.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like humans and not robots.

I worked at Bally Technologies (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Well structured departments. Never had an issue with responsibilities.

    Cons

There is - as in many companies, favoritism when it comes to applying internally for open opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Should match potential candidates to available positions from 3rd party recruitment.

I worked at Bally Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

hundreds of people that love the company and put their heart into their jobs. Gavin Isaacs is a champion. Some of the turds from the Bally days are gone.

    Cons

excessive amount of Director and VP titles.

    Advice to Management

trim the fat and take an honest look at some of the people that are not adding anything positive.

    Pros

decent benefits, vacation time, casual dress code, promotes learning, and decent pay

    Cons

depending on the departments, it can be like a cube farm where no one talks to each other unless you're in their "click" and speak their language...
