I have been working at Bally Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Received regular paychecks, but promised raises never occurred and if a raise did come, it did not keep up with cost of living.

    Cons

All buyers were put in a bullpen like animals. No privacy to do your work, people would talk at whatever volume they wanted. Everyone had to wear headphones to block out the noise of other workers. Our mManager claimed this helped communication. It helped people interrupt but didn't assist us in communication or being able to focus on work. It felt as if you were under constant scrutiny and even bathroom breaks were monitored.

    Advice to Management

If you hire and tell employees that they will be given raises to at least meet COLA, then pay that to the worker, don't buy out a new company and terminate people to allow you to afford the buyout and remove duplicate positions, then fight them for the lousy few dollars they might collect on unemployment that they already fairly paid for out of their wages. It is Unemployment Insurance, not a GIFT from your company. People need that to survive on until they can get another job after you terminated them due to terminating them due to your buyouts and coming up with excuses to terminate the employee that had been loyal to your company.

    Pros

Shared sense of desperation for self preservation with other employees.

    Cons

Advanced level of incompetence in management and their inability to profit taken out on the employees. Reduced pay for 3 years running. Reduced benefits. Look elsewhere for opportunities in the gaming industry.

I worked at Bally Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of experience to learn many facets of the casino industry. I was able to take pride in my work and show to others. Great benefits and time off was flexable.

    Cons

Once you start doing your job and doing it well you are automatically targeted by middle management (directors, etc) . They play politics all day and dont work so when someone actually works they consider them a threat and pigeon hole their career.

    Advice to Management

Start talking to managers to get the bad people out! All the layoffs that have occurred and the same bad directors are in place because they know someone. Time for a fresh start you have many talented people and will loose more and more if you don't open your eyes.

    Pros

You get a paycheck.. There are no other pros to working here..

    Cons

If you join this company, you will be treated as a slave. You will be forced to work nights and weekends with no extra pay or bonus. If you do not sell yourself as a slave, you will be blackballed and eventually terminated. The managers in this company are all a boys club.. On monday after being forced to work all weekend, due to their lying to customers about the schedule, they will talk openly about their golf game. After the recent acquisition, they have not fired a single one of these useless idiots. If you do join, watch your back..

    Advice to Management

You love the company so much, and want to do whats best for the company.. Then fire yourselves.

Good company to start your career with. Because after working here, you will survive in any company.
    Fun company events.

    Cons

Too much work pressure, forget about your personal life if you are thinking of joining this company.
    Recently laid-off many people.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Bally Technologies full-time

    Pros

Steer clear unless you can live with verbal abuse, emotional abuse, incompetent management, 1980's management style, favoritism, cronyism, managerial hypocrisy, dishonesty, untrustworthy human resources, and corporate chaos

    Cons

The air conditioning worked. Coworkers used to commiserate but now staff are double agents and coworker sabotage is the norm. You can only trust yourself

    Advice to Management

    Step down

    Pros

Follows a process/structure of work flow.

    Cons

Forced to meet deadlines which results in poor quality. Expects employee to work 10 hrs per day.

    Advice to Management

Bally technologies discriminate their employee a lot with regards to department. They have a low eye on the SQA department and does not consider SQA's for perks/bonuses whereas other/management enjoy the bonuses.
