Pros
- They're honest and transparent. (There was never a time where I sensed a lack of genuineness with management) - There seems to be a lot of room for growth- though I haven't really investigated where. - The company seems family oriented. There's a lot of understanding for work -life balance - The company is global, so depending on your team it's mostly flex hours that you'll be working - A lot of diversity and amazing benefits package.
Cons
- Working across multiple geos can be tedious because of the varying time zones. - High visibility to upper management can be a good or bad thing.

Pros
I learned a lot from my superiors working there. I still use the skills and techniques they taught me to this day in my current job. They were very kind to me and always acknowledged and recognized proper work-life balance.
Cons
Back and forth communication with the team at Manila somewhat gets mixed up.

Pros
The recruitment process was easy and efficient.
Cons
I joined Balsam Brands with high hopes, but my experience has been disappointing. The company's low pay is a significant issue, and their attempt to compensate with perks like free food, gift deliveries, webinars fall short of addressing the financial strain. Additionally, the workload, especially during the seasonal peaks, is unreasonable, leading to stress and burnout among employees. Not to mention all the games or contests especially during season, which honestly is just annoying with all the notifications. If they truly cared for us, they could have just freely given these gifts instead of raffling them off. They just add more stress by having us think what to answer, or what to post in these unmeaningful contests. Balsam Brands promotes a work-from-home culture, yet there are numerous on-site meetings that could easily be conducted online, creating unnecessary inconvenience for remote workers. Furthermore, the company's approach to layoffs appears arbitrary and unreasonable, causing instability and fear among employees. Another is the lack of care for contractors. They are treated as expendable resources, I see no empathy towards them. Overall, the company's policies and practices demonstrate a lack of empathy and respect for its workforce, making it a challenging environment to thrive in.

Pros
I've been working here 5+ years. I've seen and experienced steady company growth, a plethora of good times and some could-be-better times. I would expect all of these things during this length of tenure with a company, as I'd expect it of any type of relationship I have in my life. I've continued to enjoy working for Balsam because I think this it's a company comprised of people who truly want to work together in navigating how the company will be shaped for years to come. Everyone puts care and thought into how the core values are integrated, and it's clear they are a guiding force in how we do business. Benefits are also truly amazing, and continue to improve year over year. I think the company strives to do the right thing and takes time to reflect on instances when something goes wrong. Balsam is a company where building relationships with one another, whether that be in your same office or across the globe, is encouraged and talked about openly as part of our initiatives and career growth. It's believed that by building relationships with one another, that we will be more successful as a company, which aligns with my own personal beliefs about how a company should be run. It's also a company that believes in transparency, and you are trusted from Day 1 with insights into how the company is performing. I've never seen this level of transparency anywhere else I've worked. I have experienced a stable and supportive work environment, as well as personal and professional growth that I really wasn't expecting when I first joined. I've had to put in hard work and been challenged in ways that have been uncomfortable at times, which has led to me becoming a better version of myself, both personally and professionally. I get the opportunity to share my ideas, thoughts, and feelings, which is important to me. All in all, for me, Balsam Brands has been a really good place to work. I think it lives up to the statement on the website of "People come first, success follows", which is actually the reason why I applied in the very beginning. I was curious about this mentality in a company, and I feel it's held true during my time here. I get to genuinely show up as me, as a person. People here know who my family is, what's important to me, and they care about my well-being.
Cons
Career paths aren't extremely clear for everyone. It seems more dependent upon the employee to navigate their own growth and advocate for themselves to advance their job. Once you get to the higher levels in the company, it becomes a little less clear how promotions are evaluated and how managers approach promotions. This is an area that I see openly being worked on, which I'm happy about. There isn't a formal recognition program, but I do see accolades and gratitude being shared every day across all geos over Slack. This isn't necessarily a "con", but this is a holiday retail company, so for some teams that means the busiest time of year is during Q4. This should be considered if you're someone who likes to take a lot of time off during the holiday season - it might not be the ideal setup for you.

Pros
Hybrid schedule and flexible hours except during September - February when it is insanely busy
Cons
Poor compensation. Fake niceness. CEO is out on vacation most of the time. They pretend to care about the people but really don't. Its all about the Benjamins, if they miss targets they will lay you off. Business outlook is not good, no real upside to artificial Christmas trees. Senior leadership makes all the calls and they are not nice people nor do they know what they are doing.

Once again, thank you for your feedback. Your input is important to us. If you feel comfortable, we encourage you to discuss these matters further with your People Partner.

Pros
From day one, I was met with an atmosphere of enthusiasm, collaboration, and genuine care. It's rare to come across an organization where every individual - from the entry-level employee to the upper management - is genuinely invested not just in the work, but in each other's personal and professional growth. Amazing Experience Every task, project, or challenge I undertook was a chance to learn, grow, and innovate. The support system is unparalleled, with mentorship opportunities, regular feedback sessions, and comprehensive training programs. I wasn't just another employee; I felt like a valued member of a team pushing the boundaries of what's possible in our industry. Great Culture The company culture is its most noteworthy asset. It's a medley of respect, transparency, and camaraderie. Team-building events, open-door policies, and a focus on work-life balance are not just words in an employee handbook; they are lived and breathed every day. Recognition events ensured that everyone's hard work and dedication didn't go unnoticed, fostering a sense of appreciation throughout the team. The emphasis on continuous learning and professional development made sure we were always at the forefront of our industry. My time at Balsam Brands was more than just employment; it was an enriching experience that has left an indelible mark on my professional journey. The lessons I've learned, the relationships I've built, and the growth I've experienced are unparalleled. If you're considering a role at Balsam, you're not just looking at a job, but an opportunity to be a part of something special.
Cons
While my experience at Balsam Brands was overwhelmingly positive, I do believe there's always room for improvement in any organization. At times, the rapid pace of things and the desire to innovate meant that we occasionally took on more than we could handle, leading to some long hours. It would be beneficial for the team to further streamline processes or perhaps reconsider the allocation of resources during peak periods. That being said, the company was always receptive to feedback, and I'm confident they'll continue to adapt and refine their approach for the betterment of all employees.
