I worked at Baltimore City Community College full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity for Growth and Ability to shift into different positions.

    Cons

Wanted to work more with Finance and was never given the opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Advance women into more financially responsible jobs even if in a creative field.

I worked at Baltimore City Community College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you want to align yourself with back-stabbing thieves who engage in illegal, mismanagement of money and lie to students in order to soak even more money from poor, naive community members, enroll today! Enrollment has steadily declined over the years while administrators steal from Paul to pay Peter (and themselves). Daily they break the law and Middle States Accreditation by having unqualified professors teach, not paying faculty for overloads, and violating their contracts.

    Cons

If you can read and have a brain, the above is rife with sarcasm and you can tell there really are no positives.

    Advice to Management

To the Board of Trustees: Clean House! Get rid of 100% of the administration and start over. Otherwise, you will be a board to an empty, shut-down institution!

    Pros

Most of the students were interested in learning, many of my colleagues were great.

    Cons

The administration was extremely disorganized, requiring their employees to submit the same paperwork over and over, giving almost no advanced warning for mandatory meetings and lining up teachers just days before the semester began. Pay is among the lowest of all the city schools for adjunct professors. During my time there, the heads of the departments and schools switched every semester, leaving us pretty devoid of continuity, reliable leaders and consistent protocol.

I worked at Baltimore City Community College full-time

    Pros

The supervisor worked just as hard as employees. The department that I worked in encouraged independent thought. Professional development was encouraged and supported.

    Cons

Department was going through a rough patch and managers fought with each other, and pulled the employees in it.
