I worked at Banana Republic part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A very comfortable work environment with a great discount on the clothing from the store.

    Cons

Terrible work hours, I was only ever scheduled to work shifts that were roughly four hours long and would only work two days a week despite being a hard working employee.

    Advice to Management

    Don't over-hire.

I worked at Banana Republic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great discounts, was very hands on when redesigning merchandise.

    Cons

Holidays are chaotic. Management is very obsessed with clock in clock out times. Some managers would try to claim your production results, simply because they were your senior.

I have been working at Banana Republic part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

(Rockerfeller location )you get 50% discount on full price items, doesn't inlcude leather. and you get 10% extra on the sale with whatever discount was there. I made really good friends there because they hire really nice people, so making friends was easy.

    Cons

it will wreck your work-life balance because there is none. they started cutting hours so drastically that everybody was getting under 30 hours when we were used to getting 35-40. And then to top it off they started making every shift 4-5 hours long so i would be there five days a week but only for 5 hours long and it was stupid . and they would sabotage anybody leaving but not providing references it was crazy!

    Advice to Management

give us back hours or give us full shift for 3 days so we can get another job, this job doesn't feed nobody. stop being selfish! and promote your own people!

I worked at Banana Republic full-time

    Pros

typical retail, maybe the discount is ok

    Cons

Beware of trying to quit. They will tell you that you off for PTO used and health benefits. I left without taking my full year's allowance of PTO and yet they were charging me a few hundred dollars. Then I wrote and told them that I did not owe and they sent a letter saying I owed for health benefits from after I quit. They should have stopped the benefits, not charge me for them. I did not use any of the benefits during that time, so they should just reverse the charges. Everyone that works there is super fake and all they care about is if you open up Banana Republic credit cards. When did retail stores sell their souls to banks?
Do yourself a favor and don't try to work there or they will think you owe them forever

    Advice to Management

don't be passive agressive, do put in any PTO for an employee without written persmission, stand up to corporate about BRCs...it is a store, not a bank

    Pros

Nothing at all, the only saving grace with this company is the discount, and regular customer gets the same. There no pros at all!

    Cons

Horrible company to work for, from store to corporate level. It’s all about horrible politics. They don’t support each other and truly affect the dynamics of the store!

    Advice to Management

They can figure that on their own!

I worked at Banana Republic part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great discount. It was fun to help clients. You got to learn from the.

    Cons

The employees at Banana Republic are very very cliquey! Absolutely absurd. Management is a huge mess. You cannot even. View the numbers unless you are a member of management or a key holder so you have no idea how the store is doing, yet they are always on you to do more an work harder. They expect the work of you and the pay is crap! Less than crap actually. Also, the manager never ever spoke a word to me she had other people tall me for her.

    Advice to Management

Be a leader! Do not think you are better than the members on your team because you are not. You also shouldn’t talk bad about the company/cooperate where other associates can hear you. You as a manager were blaming corporate for your stores lack of success when that is completely untrue and very inappropriate.

I worked at Banana Republic part-time

    Pros

    1. You get a 50% Discount

    Cons

    1. Some stores are too big for employees to be managed well
    2. Intramanagment Politics were suuuuper annoying
    3. Managment tended to pick favorites and weren't discreet about it

    Advice to Management

Commit to being there for your employees as much as you are for the daily goals and customer satisfaction. A store thrives when the employees are thriving and customers notice. Big time.
