I worked at BancorpSouth full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Local managers had some pretty major decision making capabilities, so it was a larger company with a smaller company feel. Tyler, TX location was full of great people.

    Cons

Communication between corporate and local branches was inconsistent at best.

    Advice to Management

Create a more established career path for young individuals and bring some locations out to Dallas.

I worked at BancorpSouth full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Customer service experience. Money handling.

    Cons

Sharing a refrigerator. Branch politics. Being the face of the bank and getting paid squat.

    Advice to Management

I believe senior management had changed since I worked there. The previous CEO seemed to be content with mediocrity.

    Pros

Great company to work for. At Bancorpsouth you get a sense that the company really does care for you as an employee and it has been a meaningful learning experience as my first job out of college.

    Cons

Lack of challenge and advancement at current position.

    Advice to Management

When an employee shows initiative and makes it known that they are ready to advance to a position where they could be more of an asset to the company, show more enthusiasm for helping them to achieve that goal.

I have been working at BancorpSouth full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Local Branch Staff are like family and treat their customer as such making it enjoyable at the branch level.

    Cons

Here is a list of Cons: Short Staffed, New CEO, New Changes To Policy Everyday Making It Hard To Adapt Much Less Understand These Changes. Promising Compensation And Not Delivering.

    Advice to Management

I can relate to making cutbacks to save money on budgets and I agree as well as understand, but I would take a harder look at your branches to see if the staff can handle the heavy and often additional work load that is added.
