I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - well known global bank - finance program allowed to rotate within several groups to support different products/services (I was fortunate enough to be in good groups, I know some of my peers were not.) - managers looked after me for performance review purposes - frequent finance events allowing analysts to network with higher-ups - really focuses on building the future leaders in finance

    Cons

    - already a well-established bank, so no innovative or creative projects - constant cost-cutting so computers run slow when dealing with large data - your typical corporate banking culture

    Advice to Management

Time's changed. Technology is running the world. Maybe focus on creating a more vibrant, techie-culture in the offices and offer more room for growth. Little things like these will make a world of difference to your employees.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Benefits were truly second to none. Facilities were better than some.

    Cons

You are a part of a machine. Corporate nonsense abounded. Penny pinching prevented technology from upgrading to 21st century. Management more interested in bottom line than people. Pathetic political posturing that was so disingenuous it made me nauseous.

    Advice to Management

Care about people, specifically your employees, half as much as your PR makes you purport.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Amazing benefits, medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid parental leave, daycare and tuition reimbursement, advancement opportunities. Paid holidays and time off.

    Cons

Retention. They lay off senior tenured associates to give those jobs to people in India. No restructuring or reallocating loyal employees to other roles to avoid lay off. Pay is mediocre for the business. It’s all about the shareholders and their bottom line. They don’t give bonuses anymore to front like associates.

    Advice to Management

You need to appreciate the years your tenured associates put in. Take more time and initiative to finding them a position within the company instead of letting them go. Implement bonuses again for those putting in the hours to make this company a success. It starts with the little people. -An associate of 13 years

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Some of the great things are their internal employee networks and programs. There is a ton of self help curriculum and job improvement tools.

    Cons

One of the cons is the NEED to utilize those self help tools as management continues to lower cost through location strategies, system decommissioning, AI and BOT enhancements. These indirect business decisions impact various areas in addition to a reduction in resources.
