I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Bank of America is a great company to work for, and it is entirely possible to move up as they really do like to promote from within.

    Cons

Sometimes you can be micro managed, depending on your supervisor. This can lead to lower morale and to the feeling that you are not trusted.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are always available to lend a helping hand or there for a shoulder to lean on. Some of the advisors do have respect, which is rare in this industry.

    Cons

Training is poor. Management pushes bank products so they receive bonuses regardless if clients qualify for the products. There is a lot of favoritism among management and some employees.

    Pros

Large platform with lots of internal opportunities. You can move to other functions or platforms without going through full recruiting process

    Cons

You can see political plays a lot, and supporting function is not always great. Pay is at industry average, but I have heard people getting laid off before

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company provides very good benefits compared to other companies. They also provide the ability to work remotely (with management approval)

    Cons

Flat organizational structure does not allow room for professional growth. Leadership positions are often offered to outsiders.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Like the title says I was fortunate to be in a group where I had an excellent manager who was self confident. He provided opportunities as was a good mentor. He also understood that people had lives outside work. Work was busy and at a good pace but not so much where you had to to put in 10-9+.hours a day.

Vacation is standard days and medical is so/so. Work life balance is good

    Cons

Compensation is poor with respect to peers, and there is little room for advancement. Basically people stay put and do not move from there roles ... So there is no room to move unless someone leaves / Management is trying a lot of PR type programs but since they are in cost containment mode no real new projects or expansion opportunities for growth.

    Cons

Poor work assignments from managers, not so good growth for new college grads.
My manager did not care much about individual team members growth and lacked guiding the team.

    Advice to Management
