I have been working at Bank of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work. salary is satisfactory with all benefits. Vacation time is impressive. Bank of america has a culture of caring and sharing. BofA is a company with great value. All employees are valuable asset. Try to focus on customer satisfaction you will definitely be successful and achieve your sales goal too. Everyone is happy when a customer is happy.

    Cons

In a fast paced environment everyone is busy with their own training and goals so its hard to get noticed. Have to wait for promotion.politics depend upon manager's nature. Can't enjoy freedom. One has to be dependent upon manager's decisions. After working a year or more you feel like you have lost your independent thinking and problem solving skill.

    Advice to Management

Promotion should be quick. Before employees quit for higher position, management should take care to offer promotion.Accept innovative ideas from young staff and listen to problems of entry level staff. Try to best utilize skills and talents of staff.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Build professional skills in terms of verbal and communication.

    Cons

Stressful in terms of sales, work/life balance is not there.

I have been working at Bank of America (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company does contribute to the local communities.

    Cons

The company tends to say all the right things but in reality it does not treat its employees fairly. An "old boy network" culture is still very strong.

    Advice to Management

    Synchronize talking and actions.

I worked at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

Gain experience, can receive promotions fairly quickly

    Cons

Only care about sales, will fire you for anything if sales aren't there, do not care about people at all

    Advice to Management

Hire the right people for the right jobs not the fake lazy people that are simply friends with the right people. And no Ceo deserves 25 million a year when the employees make pennies

    Pros

Individuals at Bank of America were extremely team oriented and always looked out for each other. There was a huge push for putting the client first.

    Cons

Individuals would attempt to give clients everything at the expense of firm instead of focuses on their ultimate objective which was to provide realistic retirement advice.

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity to develop yourself in order to get to next level of professional development. Working for large company provides diverse prospects for next step.

    Cons

Not particularly a con, but having to follow a strict sales method. Being from a sales background...following a strict structure seems less natural.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice to offer management other than stressing their need to take a public stance against the Occupy Wall Street movement by declaring the value that consumer banking gives to their consumers publicly.

    Cons

Due to many different reasons, even some debatable ones, compensation has dwindled a bit.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you, your peers above and below you never cease to create balance and provide motivation around you for advancement; do not become complacent.
