I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is some job flexibility when working for Bank of America. Bank of America encourages and promotes a diverse work force.

    Cons

Bank of America does not give good merit raises each year. Expect to get low raises as Bank of America is very cost conscious. Bank of America Human Resources is not pro-employee. If an associate has a concern HR will always concur with the business. Bank of America benefits are not very good and the benefits a considerably worse for managers than hourly associates or associates making under 100k per year.

    Pros

Dynamic, energetic group that strives to achieve success and results for all clients and peers. A really fun group too!

    Cons

Long commute. Sometimes the work-life balance suffers as a result of the hours. Not easy to reach, a bit off the beaten path.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and pay is aligned with workload and success. Flexible working options available for some. Potential to grow in the company (worked here for 13 years moved up to a VP designation).

    Cons

Constant reorganization means you will most likely not be working in the position or with the manager you originally applied. I was transferred to a different manager 22 times in less than 24 months. This means you have to "tell your story" over and over to get the assignments or recognition/bonus/incentive etc you deserve. Unfortunately for me this meant that at any given time my new manager could let me go because my role did not fit within this "new way /business model" without taking into consideration the years I put into the company and that I wanted a different role.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to the voice of the employee not just say you will. Consider what your reorganizations mean to those employees who put the years in and worked hard for their position.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Global Company with great vision for corporate growth.

    Cons

Gets too caught up in being number one to remember associates

    Advice to Management

When you limit your associates and their abilities you will limit your growth. I can't get more than a meets rating due to your limitations on statistics. This focus creates a system which limits my growth to other areas because managers can't rate you based on your ability.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large. Many jobs to choose from and geographically diverse.

    Cons

Poor leadership and management. Intense focus on the wrong things. Cut throat culture and environment. Treats associates at the low end of the hierarchy very poorly.

    Advice to Management

Weed out the incompetent managers. Treat people like people; not just some but all of them.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great work life balance. Most managers allow for a regular work week, with limited requirements for extra hours. Benefits are top notch. Challenges are available if you seek them out.

    Cons

Direct pay/bonus not as good compared to the past. Limited pay raises that don't keep up with inflation. Difficult to increase responsibility or get a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Allow for more stretch development by letting people fail forward. Focus on retaining good associates with a bit higher pay/bonus structure; a little goes a long way. Allow for periodic telecommuting when feasible.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It paid a decent salary for what the actual job requirements were. It has nice colors and parking for employees

    Cons

Horrible management structure, incompetent lending department, and just the most unprofessional organization I've seen. I can't imagine working with less respectable people who cared nothing for clients and all for their own pay.
