    Advice to Management

Don't allow manager favoritism drive the reduction of staff.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits
High base salary without the stress of Consulting and Investment Banking
Diversity Friendly company. No really, BofA actually does
    Relax working environment
Occasionally able to work from home. Some groups work from home every Friday

    Cons

    Constantly restructuring
The company did not pay for my relocation but did give a signing bonus
They do lay off people and will probably continue too as we automate more
Some groups can be "cut-throat" So, you have to be a good self-promoter.
Networking and politics is a big part of the game here. If you play, you'll be fine. If not, you'll be left behind.

    Advice to Management

I've had great managers so far, but there's little leadership at the bank. Lots of managers, few leaders. Learn and know your employees and challenge them.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, including 5 weeks vacation, 10 paid holidays, 401K, health insurance, life insurance and many free HR services. Ability to move and change careers within the company and internal candidates are often preferred. Internal training available. Mentors available.

    Cons

Difficult to get into the bank unless you are an entry level associate. You need to know someone to get your foot in the door in most lines of business. You have the ability to work yourself out of a work life balance. You must set your boundaries or you can get sucked into a bad balance.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The salary was quite decent and I know there is an effort to try and engage employees more and change the morale, but this is like any other large corporate with hundreds of thousands of employees. It's impersonal, but it depends primarily on your immediate team and manager. It is what you make it.

    Cons

It's impersonal... you're a number. Management talks a great talk, but the follow through is not there.

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible to allow people to work from home like we use to be able to. Morale would skyrocket.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Get experience to move on. 401K match immediate. Tuition reimbursement $5K per year, Volunteer time off 2 hours per week paid. 3 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick time.

    Cons

No advancement. Favorites already picked out. Too many politics. They say you can get flex time but don't honor it. Only men seem to get moved up but most of the workers are women.

    Advice to Management

Clean house and hire new managers or build internally
