I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Above average pay for managerial and technical staff. Nice work facilities.

    Cons

No working remote. Company got into the habit of laying people off 3-4 times a year during the down turn and haven't kick the habit. Get connected or get caught in a wave of Reduction in Force (RIF). No idea how employees last more than 10 years.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like people not a commodity. Direct management and senior management don't care about what you if it does not related to work. Got pictures of your vacation or special event. Keep them at home. Feeling is, if you have time to share photos you don't have enough work. See RIF in Cons.
Bank has a callus disregard to the impact of a lay off. Won't assist or give you time to find another internal job.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are better than the average company.

    Cons

Poor management--managers often preach "open door policy", but this is definitely not the case. Speaking with a manager about a genuine concern often times makes you a target. No room for growth in certain departments.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits. Good communication. They really work with your schedule. Good team leadership. Everyone works toward a common goal.

    Cons

Long commute. Not really a lot of cons for this company. I don't know what else to say so I am just typing to meet minimum word requirements.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and reasonable pay. My managers were good.

    Cons

The company seemed to be on a twice a year layoff schedule the last few years. My group was reduced from 10 to 3 (1 voluntary) before my layoff.
Layoffs and reorganizations changed my manager twice in the last 2-3 years.

    Advice to Management

Across board layoffs in an organization/LOB is demoralizing. Can under-staff some critical applications too.
