I have been working at Bank of America full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Clean, professional environment. Weekends off.

    Cons

Your experience really depends on who your manager is. Different branches have vastly varying cultures. The pressure on CSR's to push people over to the sales side and to promote credit cards, etc.

I have been working at Bank of America for more than a year

    Pros

Great company culture, excellent pay/benefits, and a good introductory role for learning risk management.

    Cons

New hire training was cursory and not much of a priority in the banking center (you learn as you go). Professional development is mostly self-driven, although many resources are at your disposal. This job has a significant emphasis on generating referrals through your transactions, but there is no real compensation for those referrals until you have been with the company for 3 or more years. This may be specific to... my district/market manager, but vacation must be scheduled before the start of the calendar year.

    Advice to Management

Offer an universal incentive program for CSR's to generate referrals. I think most CSRs do not intend to stay in-role for more than two years, and with the emphasis on generating referrals so prominent in our KPI, it would go a long way toward increased productivity if they were directly compensated for their work.
