I have been working at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

You get paid and in theory you get vacation and sick leave

    Cons

Pay increases do not cover cost of living...bonuses are FLAT, even with record earnings..they give you 200 shares of restricted stock and tell you they’ve shared the wealth. Regardless of how much you save the company, ho hard you work or how much you accomplish, they rate you meets/meet...it’s how they keep your salary low! It’s a pay for popularity system. Only the A list gets promoted..the rest of us get demoted and are told it has no impact on our careers or pay...and to buck up and be a team player. Management thinks we are all stupid.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benefits are fair. If you work hard you will get rewarded. Lots of opportunities to do different things with the bank.

    Cons

Getting rid of working from home was the reason I stopped working for the bank. Does help if you work in Charlotte.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

When I worked there they had the Work From Home program which allowed remote employees the opportunity to stay employed. They paid for internet, phone and office equipment. I worked with good people. When they bought my original company they bridged my years there, so when they laid me off I had enough years to be considered a retiree.

    Cons

They are dissolving the Work From Home program and laying off a lot of people. The ability to advance is not on your merit, but the whims of the managers. It wasn't a horrible place to work. It's a massive corporation so you are just another cog.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Base salary is very competitive. Easy hours; 9-4 Monday thru Friday. If you are half decent you can make great money. Goals are easy to meet if you have built a great referral source in the banks. Unlike most reviewers, I have never replaced a debit card and I rank in the top 10% of FSAs nationally. You do this buy training your bankers and tellers what you get paid on and how to have them refer you business. Next thing you know you will never have to do your own prospecting. Just make sure you are capable of closing deals and you will be fine.

    Cons

Bank managers think they manage you. They will do everything in there power to make you feel inferior. They will make or break your experience. However, if you are good at motivating and influencing people this can be overcome buy getting the bankers on your side. Once you have the bankers on your side they will get you business because they make $20 per referral.
