I worked at Bank of America as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked on a high-visibility, time-sensitive contract with the Server Admin team - although the contract team was new to BofA, they went above and beyond to make us feel valued and supported. Project activities were tightly integrated - it felt like we had been a team for years. Would go back to them under contract or permanently.

    Cons

The project was time-restricted - would have enjoyed working with the BofA team on more projects.

    Advice to Management

The Bank of America Server Admin team I worked with was dedicated, determined and effective - a truly valuable asset.

I have been working at Bank of America part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and proximity to residence

    Cons

Staff short all the time and pressure on CSR to sell at the teller line

    Advice to Management

Let the sellers sell and the tellers concentrate on accuracy instead of pressuring them to sell

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Diversity
Can be hired with no degree

    Cons

They have to hire so many people the quality of work from your co-workers can be pretty frustrating
They think nothing of moving mid-level backoffice jobs to India or moving whole entry level functions from site to site. You are more of a resource than a human.

    Advice to Management

Who exactly do you mean by management? There are probably 25 "Vice Presidents" and 100 officers in every building on campus but nobody with the authority to make a decision that results in change. Responsibility is diluted to where nothing is anybody's.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, not great, but decent. The past days with Merrill Lynch of extra perks are gone.

    Cons

Have really streamlined the training to the point a new rep is completely lost. Understandably, there are a myriad of scenarios that cannot be covered in training, but strong basics should be covered. An eight week class pared down to 2 weeks is too severe a cut. There are no annual bonuses anymore or commissions for traders. The reworked pay did not nearly compensate.

    Advice to Management

They would not listen anyway. I actually worked for Merrill Lynch, not BofA. Merrill was great, when Bank of America purchased ML, a zillion perks were cut, and the middle management was less responsive to suggestions.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company provides great benefits: vacation time, sick time, medical insurances are decent. Most other companies aren't able to compare to the time off benefits.

    Cons

I feel like the pay is less for the work done based on what other companies pay. Most training I have found does not have instructed class but is provided by a peer.

    Advice to Management

I think pay should be more considering what surrounding competing companies are paying

    Pros

Good employee benefits, discounts, & resources.

    Cons

Campus meal options are expensive and not impressive. Lousy gym and limited breakroom areas to unwind and de-stress on breaks.
