I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company in itself is not a bad company. The company hires all races and religions.

    Cons

Upper level managers do everything possible to not encourage employees to strive for better positions. Anyone getting into the company with the intention of moving up in the company is faced by jealous managers. Promotion is not by merit and mostly upper management is promoted even though most of the work is done by lower level employees. There are many people in upper management who are unqualified to be there. I think these are more bureaucratic managers not leaders.
Most available jobs go by who knows who basis.

    Advice to Management

HR needs to do their job of hiring the right candidates for each job than rely on managers who do not know what it is to be a leader, to make these decisions.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have great benefits. Actually things were really amazing at first. I didn't understand why people seemed so beat down all the time.

    Cons

They last year has been one of extreme downsizing and that has led to people being moved from team to team. There is a mid year review and end of year review every year. I have had 7 different managers in 3 years which has made it impossible to move up in the company. They tout a belief in helping their employees grow to new positions, however they make almost impossible to get on a track or program for that growth to occur. Their pay isn't up to par so they keep losing people to other companies who will pay more for the same job functions. This leaves a huge burden on those left behind because people have to pick up the slack, yet no more pay or promotions are being given to make the stress of this excess work to be done worth it.

    Advice to Management

Start paying attention to your people and the work that they are doing. Make better management decisions and then stick with them. Stop moving people around and making the environment feel unstable. Pay your people better so you can retain the quality personnel that keep leaving for better pay. Allow your employees that work in the corporate offices to work from home more often so they can have the benefit of saving money by not needlessly driving to an office every day.

I worked at Bank of America part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was attending college and working at BoA part-time and they were very understanding about my school schedule. Management worked to get me the right schedule and provided good hours for me to work. Also, the benefits and pay is better than most places.

    Cons

Like any other customer service job, you encounter unpleasant customers every now and then; people tend to get angry quick in regards to their money. Also, my location was very busy most of the time and closing the bank took longer than anyone would have wanted it to.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits program is good everyone qualifies for two weeks of paid vacations and sick time. Operating hours are good, some locations closed Saturday

    Cons

They reduce staff all the time. I had to do supervisor's work without getting an extra dime. Regional manager only cares about making her goal. Teller don't get incentives however they are expected to work as if they do
