I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Trail by fire on the job training will provide solid experience if you are able to stay long enough.

    Cons

National management created a culture designed to generate misery and high turnover so as to underpay and overwork as much as possible.

    Advice to Management

Middle management was great - leave. You can do better. National management ask yourself if creating a culture of fear and misery is really the only way to control cost and examine if maybe there is another reason you have implemented this strategy.

    Pros

Benefits and vacation are great you can even buy extra week of vacation after one year.

    Cons

Culture is crazy , senior manager always asking why her ratings were bad . It was not her it was here managers they are petty and they pushed out anyone that does do things exactly the way they want.

    Advice to Management

This site department does not understand that being diverse mean that you don't have to be a different to be included and that some people are proud to be part of the American majority.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

Great Benefits package, paid holidays, tuition and child care reimbursement

    Cons

Constant changing with processes and reduction of staff, endless micro managing and checkout processes, upper management has a delusional viewpoint of what peak days look like in the banking center. Friday, Monday, and Saturday are not the only peak days in which EVERYONE should be working. No, it should be called peak dates. the 1st-5th and the 15th. That's it. Never a good time to take a vacation or enjoy a long weekend Why? See above. Reduction in staffing due to forcing individuals to do their banking through atms, mobile banking, and direct deposit. We get it, it's easier, but if upper level managment spent time in the banking centers in the lobby with the rest of us and not in the back on conferance calls or lap tops when they do their "visits" they would get a good taste of what is endured when staffing has been reduced, and not all customers trust automated ways of doing their banking no matter how good you make it sound. Hiring of managers that have never been in banking before. What kind of sense does that make??? Do better.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the voice of your associates and your customers, hire FCMs that know what they are doing and are competant in bank processes and not individuals who have never worked in banking before. That's ridiculous and a slap in the face to internal employees who are well aware of what the position entails and how to run the business.
