I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Huge company that allows you to move to new clients and constant change Fully mature HR functions People you work with are great

    Cons

Expectations/workload very frustrating for those that want to do a good job Had 5 new managers in one year. Consistently had 2 new managers per year for 7 years.

    Advice to Management

It would be great if you would scope the roles, hire more support and slow the constant org changes. The cost of frequent org changes far outweighs the efficiency you are after. Inefficiently trying to impact inefficiency.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

Not much right now. Typical old fashion banking mentality,

    Cons

Disorganized Bogged down in so many policies and procedures you cannot be effective in your assigned role. So you need to work hours unpaid to accomplish what must be done. Everyone is very nice but no one will assume responsibility to make a decision

    Advice to Management

Allow your people to make decisions without so many bean counters. No ne can make progress forward due all the self imposed procedures. Systems checks should be run BEFORE installing programs which didn't and don't work effectively therefore compounding any progress.. Commit to back up your employees not summarily dismiss them because you over estimate the new for your work force.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Opportunity to move around and grow in many facets. If you are starting out and want to choose a company with a diverse slate of jobs, this is a great place. Internal mobility is always an option!

    Cons

Too big to fail and too big to really make an impact. If you really want to be noticed for working hard and being paid for performance, your one of thousands. To make an impactful change you need to be at the top tiers of executive management, otherwise you are just another pawn in the game.

    Advice to Management

Flatten this huge organization. Look less to a hierarchy structure, and more towards a company that allows a think tank environment, not mindless operations.
