I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Associates are friendly, good hours. I have been with the company for almost 2 years and there is a lot of room for growth and development as well a positive work culture that promotes your best well-being.

    Cons

Some of the branches are understaffed and it creates extra stress for the employees of those branches and frustration with the customers that come in. Even with the improvements in technology that allow banking to be done practically anywhere, it is not a reason to sacrifice an entire department of retail banking.

I have been working at Bank of America (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The health benefits are good. Comparable to most large companies. Many different locations to chose from.

    Cons

Really there are just too many to list.

Company reorg with management is a bust. Center managers have their hands tied and no longer manage the sales staff (technically), but they are still held accountable for the platforms production. Too many managers. The MSM's that allegedly manage the platform now are phoning it in. It's a broken system.

Upper management is constantly dangling your job in front of you, telling you that you are replaceable.

Management (OMM's, Area Managers, Market Managers etc.) have no idea who the truly hard workers are that are driven for excellence. If you are at a center that isn't green in every metric they tell you that you suck (actually say those words) and anything that you have achieved will never be realized.

The pay is embarrassing. It is not up to par with other financial institutions and sadly if you have a uterus, be prepared to be paid substantially less than those without.

Ethics and values are a hard thing to find in upper management. You can throw a rock in any given direction and hit an HR issue.

Morale is terrible. Bottom line. It's a sad place to work at.

    Advice to Management

If only they cared enough to read it. Upper management truly needs to invest in their employees. It is easy to tell those apart who work their tails off and have real ownership for their financial center. Compensate your people. If you want to see your revenue grow and your scorecards consumed by green metrics, then pay your employees well. People will fight harder and do a superior job when they are being compensated fairly. If you think constantly telling us that we will be "managed" (managed out is what they really mean) will increase our scores you are wrong. All it does is make us run for the hills and find another employer. It is evident by the amount of turn overs and LOA's. I dare you to tell me differently. 15 years in this industry and I have never seen so many employees of the same company continuously screaming the same thing, only to fall on deaf ears.

You do not value us. You do not care about our careers. You see how miserable we all are and you pretend it is us. The masses can't be wrong all the time.

Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe what I feel about my current employer. It's tragic.
