I have been working at Bank of America as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Culture promotes collaboration both vertically and horizontally throughout the enterprise.

    Cons

The organization seems to get restructured a little more often than others, but that’s just the feel I get from the talk around the “water-cooler.”

    Advice to Management

Sometimes, it’s too hard to get updated drivers on controlled software for otherwise approved applications.

I have been working at Bank of America as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Solid pay for the position
    - A lot of downtime if that appeals to you

    Cons

-New program so very little structure
    - Program name is extremely misleading. On the BofA - Financial Center track of the program, interns do barely anything related to advising or analyzing. Actually - scratch that - interns do barely anything at all. Most of my summer has been spent bored on my laptop or essentially working as a glorified greeter in the branch, even though I cannot communicate with many clients due to a significant language barrier.
    - This is NOT a Finance internship at all.. Don't let it being a Bank of America internship fool you. It's a sales or customer service internship if anything.
    - Management essentially says its up to the interns to design their own internship, even though no one knows how to help you. No one in my branch had ever heard of the program or even knew what or who I was on the first day.
    - I genuinely feel like I have learned nothing this summer and am nervous about how to explain this experience during any future interviews

    Advice to Management

    - Be specific about what the program and daily duties consist of! The majority of interns I have spoken to are Finance majors expecting relevant experience, but that has just not been the case. The Merrill Lynch - Wealth Management track seems much more organized and beneficial for anyone considering a career in financial advising/wealth management.
