    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Bank of America (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Benefit program is the carrot.

    Cons

Management is not engaged in day to day process they only get marching orders from on high and execute never actually knowing how the applications work that they are responsible, just mange by numbers. Don't waist your time, if you think it would be a career move when they terminate you they will not even provide references so you are on your own having wasted years contributing only to cut when the boss gets their marching orders from top management.

    Advice to Management

Reduce your levels of management from 10 to three of four so that you get to understand what your employees are contributing and provide relevant guidance.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you are working in the right department, where things don'g run based on favoritism, friendship and family, then you should find your self being a successful employee. The benefits are reasonable, some departments do give bonuses and if you work hard, you will be successful.

    Cons

There is no HR high overview on how some departments are being run by managers. If you complain to advise and counsel, they take note of your complain and will address it very lightly, but you will be gone before you can take any further action. They get rid of the people who are hard working, knowledgeable because they are not part of their "click" or group. There is no HR involvement on who they hire as long as the manager likes the person and they pass the background, they get in. So people who are more qualified will never get the chance if they don't know them. You don't even get a chance to be interviewed.

    Advice to Management

I would highly recommend for HR to be involved and investigate some of these departments. When Lay Offs happen, they happen based on high to low rating. HR needs to review those, are they truthfully rated? If someone has exceeded expectations year after year, has been loyal for the company for many years, how can that person get low rating?
