I worked at Bank of America as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Deep Corporate & Investment Banking expertise

    Cons

Nothing of note. Just London being a branch, it misses the authority of head office.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible working, emergency childcare, good benefits package, onsite gym, central location, working with smart people. Opportunity to learn a lot of different types of tech.

    Cons

As a developer be careful not to get stuck on a heavily proprietary project like quartz otherwise you may find yourself becoming de skilled. Sometimes the red tape can be frustrating. Quality of offshore colleagues varies immensely from excellent to mediocre. In my experience you are not rewarded for staying in your role at this firm and the longer you stay, the more underpaid you will be. Aim to make a move after 3 years tops.

    Advice to Management

Look after staff who have decided to dedicate a number of years to the company. Make sure they are adequately compensated.
