I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

Great brand exposure, good employee perks, hundreds of opportunities, corporate offices all over NYC, co-workers are generally proud to work for BofA

    Cons

Lateral movement has more barriers than there should be, employees don't have a long tenure with BofA, mixed and somewhat awkward culture with Merrill

    Advice to Management

Make it easier for employees to transition from one line of business to another, particularly if they're younger and can meet certain standards

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Bank of America

    Pros

The staff benefits given through the ABC system are superior to any others I have had or heard of. There is always chance to progress if you prove yourself, and there is constant opportunities for feedback through one to one sessions, personal development reviews and 360 group feedback sessions. The facilities at the office make it a great place to work -very sociable and a good atmosphere.

    Cons

The work was tough, and the economic conditions made it harder. Morale was sometimes low, which made coming to work difficult. Expectations are always very high, and sometimes a lot of pressure is put on the wrong people in the team - usually the junior members of staff are given tasks above their responsibility level.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that even though times are tough and due to necessary restructures the workload for some is increasing, make sure you dont forget all the extra things that make BOA a great place to work.
