I have been working at Bank of America Merchant Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, manageable sales goals, great pay, company phone and computer, 401k, cheap insurance, did I mention great pay?

    Cons

Takes one month to receive commission. Other than that you still have to deal with the normal ups and downs that comes with a job in sales.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Pros

Great people, real dedication to work/life balance, fair compensation/incentives

    Cons

Incentives structure keeps changing, never enough notice/explanation

    Advice to Management

When it comes to pay and incentives, keep it simple, keep it fair, keep it consistent

I have been working at Bank of America Merchant Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good salary & benefits, good brand name in BoA, great way to get into "the bank"

    Cons

leadership is starting to micromanage, mature/stable industry and they are doing away with the WFH program (less flexibility & accommodating to employees work/life balance)

    Advice to Management

hire the best people you possibly can, give them the tools to succeed and then get out of their way and let them do their jobs

I have been working at Bank of America Merchant Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Manager and team culture is very positive and supportive. Since Bank of America is taking more of an active role they have shifted away from the First Data ways. They brought over 2 brilliant execs from BOA to help lead this initiative. So far, they are making a difference.

    Cons

The tablets are tough to get used to and do not function like a sophisticated laptop would.

    Advice to Management

First Data has a BYOD program. This would be great. Taping paper receipts and mailing them in hard copy form for expense reporting really hinders reimbursement. We should really consider lifetime residuals and an account manager model to ensure employee and customer retention.

Otherwise, thank you for all of the support and empowering us more in 2017.

    Pros

stability, great team enviroment, great collegues, work life balance

    Cons

    33,000 base pay
In 2015 we were able to make 70K+ with commission based on the territory that was provided to ISB by management. in 2016 the commission structure changed and so did the territories so we made much less in commission a month, went from 4k+ monthly to about $2500 or less. And now in January 2017 management gave all the good banks to the field reps and left ISB with all the banks in rural areas that have no new clients and no traffic at all. At this point we are lucky to make $500 a month commission and deduct taxes from that.

    Advice to Management

The base pay is to low when compared to similar companies doing same type of work.
Cost of living is to high to pay employees 33,000 a year and not take into consideration that giving all the good banks to the field reps will impact ISB employees detrimentally.
Better decision making from upper management is very necessary.

    Pros

The managers are extremely knowledgeable and you will learn a ton if you listen. Pay is very good if you know your craft!

    Cons

The bank partnership needs reduce some of its red tap and allow BAMS associates to participate in their internal meetings

    Advice to Management

Promote with in the company instead of an outsider.

I have been working at Bank of America Merchant Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a job, but if you're looking for a career, this isn't it.

    Cons

As an inside business consultant, it is extremely micro managed, and you're treated like a elementary school child. The salaries are way out of line for the talent they want. Commission plans change all the time, and of course the house always wins. No growth, every time a new position is posted, it seems they have already chosen someone for that position, but the job is posted because they have to.

    Advice to Management

Management that allows autonomy. Management that knows how to do my job.

    Pros

The benefits and salaries were decent

    Cons

They talk a lot about culture and ethic but it's all "talk". They don't know how to retain their employees and a lot of Micromanaging. HR is a joke and useless, Their parent Company First Data is a much better company to work for.
