I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Big company with a lot of perks. Many discounts offered and employee banking is a huge plus.

    Cons

Senior Leaders make decisions on positions but were never in the trenches with the employees they lead.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within more. You have people that want to move up. You have already invested in employees with training. Use them!

    Pros

Promotes from within, and cares about employee career goals and line of business preferences. Leadership typically knows what they are doing, and they are able to distill corporate jargon into actionable objectives.

    Cons

It's a big company, so there is lots of Koolaide to drink. Employees at this level are usually working a job, not a career.

    Advice to Management

Digital initiative are good, and very important for the future of the company, but they should not come at the expense of the associates.

    Pros

Great benefits and work life balance and some great managers who Care at lower levels, however are pushed along by different focuses every other week that can be difficult to track when changed so often.

    Cons

Upper management seems disconnected to the pulse in the centers. They give up on a strategy to quickly to see if it has any real effect.

    Advice to Management

Pick a strategy and stick with it , giving it a chance before giving up and moving onto a different transformation. Change is good but to much change is not.

    Pros

Company policy and HR policy is progressive and promotes work life balance. Reasonable salaries. Stable company. Very process oriented software development not the chaotic mismanaged process that you see in smaller companies. Large workforce and so options for horizontal mobility.

    Cons

Associates' career progress, quality of life, work environment etc can be controlled too much by the immediate manager.

    Advice to Management

There has to be anonymous and compulsory upward and cross evaluation of managers by associates to evaluate manager performance with respect to ensuring friendly and safe work environment.
