I worked at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

Vacation time was very adequate. In general, the benefits were pretty good.

    Cons

The bank is a political nightmare. Staff ranking places employees and their managers in the same bucket, depending on level, and the ranking does not necessarily compare you against other workers in your same functional role.

    Advice to Management

    Quality is greater than quantity.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Name recognition, Vacation, PTO, health benefits, confident pay is on time.

    Cons

Under pay versus competitor banks. You don't need experience and education for a management or officer, or AVP or VP role you only need to be friends with your boss and they should be friends with their boss. They don't listen to their employees, and the Band system is seriously in need of replacement. There is no true path to success at this company.

    Advice to Management

Look at a candidates experience, education and track record for consideration for promotion. Stop fraternizing. Look at your leadership across the organization. Diversity is something you can actually see with your own eyes and not just in your call centers. Put the pressure on the organization to increase the pay. You wont keep talent if you don't pay a fair wage for experience and professionalism. If you live 3 hours from your office how are you every going to effectively manage your workforce. Get in touch with the front line employees and understand to be a pioneer for change and innovation for the future you have to change things. Offer more work from home options. Staying the same will get the same , if not worse results.

    Cons

Too much red tape to change policies and procedures.

Be a little more willing to accept ideas from the workers that are in the everyday process. Too many times workers that are in the everyday process are overlooked for individuals who are already "leaders"
