I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A solid company, with lots of history. In the financial space they are among the top banks and technology offerings.

    Cons

Big company, and with that comes the management style of not offering a lot of change or opinion to make change. However most will listen, even if unable to offer anything.

The only pro to working at BOA was getting paid on time.

    Cons

The stress of telling people to pay up or lose your home.
Calling people before their mortgage was due to tell them to pay.

I worked at Bank of America as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Opportunities for growth
    Great community outreach programs

    Cons

training is an after thought. They makes changes often, hold associates accountable for the changes and then a month later offer training on changes.

    Advice to Management

Training is essential, train employees, have them sign off that they've been trained before holding them accountable. Supervisors should not be the trainers unless they themselves have been trained.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

pretty good benefits and great perks ... I learned a lot about credit cards and mortgage loans

    Cons

After 17 years of services .. My unit was sold to a new company but we still did the same bank of america work.. Pretty much we became contractors for bank of america .. there was a layoff in two years ... so that was very hurtful .. I know business is business.. But wow!!

    Advice to Management

Please care more for your associates. I knew people who gave 30 and 40 years of service, and had been sold to another company with me .. And walked a way with one month of servances pay.. Maybe it was a smart business move for the company .. but what about your associates, who are also your customer.. How do you think it felt trying explaining to your family and friends what bank of america did.. If bank of america HAD DID THE LAYOFF INSTEAD OF THE NEW COMPANY, WE WOULD HAVE RECEIVED A WAY BETTER LAYOFF PACKAGES .. Bank of america always taught me to do whats right.. But i don't think they did right by us the associates/ Customers . I'm not trying to bad mouth the company.. I just stating how i feel.
