I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

BofA provides a welcoming work environment with structure and stability. The Company offers great perks (401k matching, health benefits) and really drives a culture of diversity and inclusion. Out of all the big banks, I believe BofA has garnered a better reputation and instills a risk framework that drives responsible growth. Upper management is strong.

    Cons

A desk job with little room to move up besides the annual promotion. Because BofA is a regulated institution, much of your work involves compliance and related issues. As well, it is a very bureaucratic structure and it is very easy to get lost in the different lines of businesses. Minimal feelings of empowerment.

    Pros

Friendly people. Can learn a lot. Few long working hours. Very good 401k match. Give new joiners time to learn

    Cons

Politics, favoritism , very boring job, no growth. They don't encourage switching to other projects or teams unless you know someone. Promotions are based on popularity

    Advice to Management

Appreciate people for what they do instead of who they know

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for portfolio growth given large customer base, excellent benefits and compensation plan, family leave program is amazing

    Cons

In such a large company, there seems to be confusion between departments on who should have what information which can lead to inadvertent misinformation.
