I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits hands down are A1, You can advance just about anywhere you want within the organization as long as you have a foot in the door, perform well and network through all the available channels they offer through their intranet. In my many years with the bank I've worked in Mortgage, IT and Retail Consumer & Business Banking. Every department has its ups and down but I can say there were more ups than downs.

    Cons

Be prepared for change that sometimes make no sense.
Retail banking market has short staffing all the way around

    Advice to Management

    OMM is great

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Often fantastic leadership who are eager to help their teams succeed. Lots of opportunity to advance and branch out into different lines of business. Great benefits. Opportunities to gain exposure to senior leadership. Diverse workforce amd a ton of employee networks catering to all kinds of interests.

    Cons

Very few cons, really. Customer service can be difficult when client expectations do not align with our product or service features. Occasionally you end up working with someone who behabes selfishly or does not seem willing to work for the team's success. That's not the norm, though.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Work Life Balance
    -Good starting salaries
-Opportunities for growth if you are willing to move

    Cons

-Not enough staff; laid off most of teller staff
-Way to many leaders telling you different things
-Always sales focused; not very customer focused
-Not enough budget to run operations
-Not much room for growth unless you wish to focus on sales
-Disciplined for overtime that is forced on you
-Too many tasks, not enough people

    Advice to Management

Less area managers and more tellers to staff operations. To many times have we gotten opposite directions from district and area managers while not having enough staff or resources to implement them. Either hire more personnel to work at your banking centers or stop blaming your bottom tier leadership for your mistakes.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company cares about doing what is right for it's customers regardless of cost and expense. It was nice knowing I was part of something very ethical even when the media did not portray it as such.

    Cons

Like all businesses they need to react to changing market conditions and that led to downsizing which impacted my work location and me personally. So my time ended but I was provided support in my job search and a severance package.

    Advice to Management

Work to integrate the business as everything still seems very compartmentalized. Doing this would have major saving opportunities.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    great benefits and awesome co-workers

    Cons

Serious lack of communication from regional management, unrealistic sales goals, false promises

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees' needs, they're the life blood of a company. When you promise an employee certain things, you need to have a plan in place to deliver on those promises. And when an employee is willing to put in the work and be open and candid about their career goals with your company, you should take them seriously and follow through on helping them to achieve those goals, not just use them for your own benefit and run them ragged in the process.
