I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company provides great benefits: vacation time, sick time, medical insurances are decent. Most other companies aren't able to compare to the time off benefits.

    Cons

I feel like the pay is less for the work done based on what other companies pay. Most training I have found does not have instructed class but is provided by a peer.

    Advice to Management

I think pay should be more considering what surrounding competing companies are paying

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

More plentiful for entry to midlevel positions.

    Cons

Advanced positions/opportunities are not granted on merit or skillset. More weight is placed on who you know than what your know, and whether or not you happen to be in a highly visible area.

    Advice to Management

Live out the values you preach. Don't ask for feedback when you have no intention of considering that feedback.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits that the company offers go beyond any other corporation. You are provided several health care options, retirement, banking, discount perks, vacation and sick time.

    Cons

Lower salaries provided than other industry competitors. Desired salary is achievable by accepting a revenue producing position.

    Advice to Management

In order to retain talent and be on the cutting edge of the industry, you need to offer a competitive salary. Any position that is non-revenue generating should not be seen as negative for the company. The company actually produces revenue from positions that develop more innovative ways to operate. At every company, employees do cause the business to incur costs. It is odd that Bank of America still classifies an associate as being part of cost center and therefore, their position within the company is segmented based upon a sales vs. non-sales role. Intellectual property rights are already granted to the bank during the course of employment, but those are seen to show any true value. At the time of the performance development plan, the contributions are only judged and determination of pay is governed by 1-2 managers within hierarchy. A system that used cost-cutting measurements was adapted by the bank and yet pay was increased by a minimal amount due to the amount provided in the budget from the top down. As a result, top talent made a choice to leave the company, which resulted in locating an employer who offered a much higher compensation which outweighed the benefits the bank could offer.
