I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Solid Coworkers. Nice office location. Management often takes a hands off approach to managing so employees are able to do their job without someone looking over their shoulders. Decent pay and benefits for the work required.

    Cons

It is very difficult to figure out what it takes to advance. Management will often give vague and conflicting advice/guidelines on what to do to get promoted. Lack of unity/team work between different departments can make it difficult to get information or answer in order to perform your job requirements. Software/tech issues occur more frequently than one would expect for such a large institution and it can be difficult...

    Advice to Management

Start setting clear guidelines on what it takes to get promoted so it no longer feels like employee names are just being picked out of a hat when annual promotion time roles around. Consider doing promotions more than once a year.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of opportunities to gain experience in the department you work. Opportunities to advance are there if you are driven and have goals.

    Cons

Being on a phone team can be stressful. Working through lunch is the norm when it's "busy" season (i.e. year end gifting season for tax write-offs).

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging staff to explore opportunities to advance in the company! Was a pleasure to work in ATS Department!

I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

good benefits, good vacation time, good holidays, pension, nationwide opportunities

    Cons

poor job security, too many jobs outsourced to India, inadequate salary opportunities.

    Advice to Management

please send fewer jobs to India. sending jobs offshore leads to increased complexity, increased time cycle time for all activities and decreased client and associate satisfaction
