I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)
Pros
Great benefits but not much else. Competitor banks start associates in similar roles with a higher pay rate.
Cons
Terrible culture, inconsistent & under trained staff
Advice to Management
Take time to educate staff instead of throwing underprepared associates out there.
I worked at Bank of America full-time
Pros
Reasonable to work with when situations arise where time off is necessary
Cons
Depending on who's in charge, favoritism exists. Leader inconsistencies are ridiculous. Hostile work environments can and will be created by the Team Managers. Unit Leaders are out of touch with what's going on, they're always in a "meeting" somewhere. Senior Leadership, in-site, shows favoritism to their people.
Advice to Management
Walk the Walk, don't just talk the talk. Maybe you should sometimes check in unannounced on your Managers to find out what they're really doing.
I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)
Pros
Great benefits, vacation, sick and personal time off are awesome. Great employee networks and community volunteer programs. Room to advance, but only if you know the right people. If you get involved and play the corporate game, which you have to everywhere in order to advance, you'll go places.
Cons
If you have been here for years, then you are in the clique and will be embraced, but if you are new then you are an outsider and will not be embraced or supported. Senior Executive and Site leader were the absolute worst people I have ever worked for. They talked down to us and said things to us that I never expected from an executive at Bank of America. Luckily, they have both been removed but the damage has already been done. Managers and employees have all left and they are not being replaced. This leads me to believe that the department will be transitioned some time soon. DO NOT ACCEPT A POSITION AS A CENTRALIZED SMALL BUSINESS BANKER IN PASADENA.
Advice to Management
Get your act together. Hire managers, trainers, business support, and executives with actual experience. The people that were in there had no experience in their role and it showed. It felt like a big experiment that failed. Hire people with call center experience not solely small business experience.
I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)
Pros
Overtime was never required and the workload was manageable.
Many of the team-members were knowledgable and were good collaborators.
Cons
Department uninterested in vision or strategy and many solutions were short-sighted for immediate gains. Solutions were focused on company benefits, not customer benefits.
