I have been working at Bank of America (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job is easy, the benefits are good

    Cons

They bait and switched the job description, a recruiter calls and tells you that the position is tech support and you expect it to be tech support. Instead, you get to the production floor and are tasked with servicing everything related to deposits and cards. Additionally every other department when they don't know how to solve a problem dumps it off on you. About half of the time you're tasked with doing things that are part of your job.

    Advice to Management

A lot of the fault lies in BofA's practice of hiring contractors for most of retail servicing. They're not trained well and frankly they don't care because BofA saves money. Consider treating retail like preferred and overall quality will improve.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You meet some amazing people with the same goals and visions as you. Connecting and learning from others is the best part. The resources at the company level are superb as long as you know they exist.

    Cons

Corporate politics, discrimination and lack of resources caused burnout. Lower level managers have inadequate knowledge for their roles. Mid level managers do not listen to the voices of the associate supposedly due to tied hands. Senior leaders promote a good vision however it is not trickled down to the entry level associate.

    Advice to Management

Front line leaders should be the most knowledgeable. They should understand the business and know the resources available to help their associates through mentor and sponsor programs. Senior leaders should run operations more efficiently and teams that are unneeded can be repurposed to other areas. Before this can happen please make sure the proper training tools and resources are available for their specific roles. Give us breaks and make the environment innovative and all inclusive.
