    Pros

Working for BoA offers you stability and great benefits. Depending on the branch you work in, the people can be really great.

    Cons

It's not really what I want to do for the rest of my life, nor am I really passionate about being a teller.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the support you give all employees.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great competitive pay- $16/hour with opportunities for raises and to move up in the company.

Incentive bonuses that can be earned each quarter.

Great benefits with dental and health insurance as well as a 401k.

Extensive training with a positive mindset from the very beginning that continues throughout career.

BOA really does care about their employees and recognizes them as well as rewards them for their successes. Will also accommodate those that may have set backs from sitting for long periods of time.

Special discounts for concert tickets, hotels, airlines, etc.

    Cons

Taking calls all day, although most are pleasant, there will be of course the irate customers but the job is taking calls in the credit card department with a sales perspective as we are finding new solutions to help the client.

Involves "digging" for sales at some points but there are also calls that clients are asking to do sales that will earn incentive, so it depends on your outlook with each call and how invested you are in helping them, you, your teammates, and the company.

Need to be able to talk to people effectively and know the language of sales or the psychology. This is something I'm still struggling with but getting better. I didn't think that I would stay with the company long, but I still see opportunities to earn great things which makes me stay.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! You strive to help us be better each day.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits. I guess you could say that there is a lot of opportunities to grow within the company, but that’s only if you get brainwashed into believing that the company really cares about helping people.

    Cons

Bonus structure has a lot of flaws, if you don’t hit 100% of your goal. you don’t get a payout. Recruiters lie to you and tell you its a 3K to 6k per quarter payout, but in reality, that’s not accurate, they somehow want employees with integrity, yet their recruiters don’t. Relationship managers are treated like they are children, they actually just get told by everyone in the financial center to do things, even tellers. Managers are so insecure because they don’t really know how to do the job and they tend on throwing others under the bus to protect their necks, it’s a pretty pathetic atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

The disconnect between the front line at financial centers and upper management is horrible. I’ve never seen so many incompetent overpaid middle managers that don’t accurately report what’s really happening in banks. Please, there’s no reason to have so managers, they suck up company reasons and don’t get much done.

    Pros

Great benefits- 401k and health insurance. Good people to work with/for. Supportive and great opportunities to move up. Locations all over so if you need to move you can move with them.

    Cons

Can be unsettled at times. Moving from one branch to another. Training is intensive but not as good as it could be.

I worked at Bank of America (More than a year)

    Pros

Fabulous benefits! Medical, dental, vision, EAP, LTD, 401k with 5%matching funds.

    Cons

Basic boiler room mentality: 2 minutes late getting back from lunch? Get written up. More than 10 seconds between calls? Get written up. Didn't sell a balance transfer or another credir card, because caller kept getting interrupted with screaming kids and wanted off the phone? Get written up. Get five write ups? Out the door.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The comp plan was good at one time but it has completely gone away. 8k a quarter was reduced to 250 a quarter in a matter of years.

    Cons

There is absolutely zero thinking required. Everything has a script or a 1-800 number to call. We all be replaced with robots soon because we do nothing to improve client experience.
