I have been working at Bank of America full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent pay. Benefits are great. 2, 15 minite breaks plus the 30 minute lunch.

    Cons

Horrible. Sales is all that matters. You have 7 managers emailing you every 10 minutes to do better. Its a lazy job, sit down all day. Its customer servive so your are a punching bag all day from clients. Some managers are helpful, others ignore if you message them for help. Its also a negative place to work. Everyone wants to leave, high turn over. Very hard to move up in the company.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

3-4 Weeks Vacation time, good benefits, and a decent bonus if you put in a lot of work, many different departments to transfer to / work for

    Cons

You are closely watched to anytime you are not allowed on your phone. You are allowed 8 minutes a day (outside of a lunch break and two 15 minute breaks) to not be logged into your phone. Yes, this includes bathroom breaks. You are allowed an average of 30 seconds after the call to do your paperwork. You will be talked to if you go above it. Your sales goals are large and forever changing to what the bank needs. None of the managers or coaches have actually sold 95% of the products so they are clueless as to what needs to be done to achieve said goals. They will ask you why you are not hitting the goals and what you plan to do to hit them. They dock your bonus on a number of different ways. They try to micromanage your vacation time by making it unavailable if the bank is behind in goals. Then they blame the associates for taking sick time/vacation time (that they gave you to use) as the reason for not hitting goals. When this happens, expect them to push overtime. Overtime can't be mandatory, so they phrase it like "What is your commitment for overtime this month?" - then keep pushing and asking you even if you say you have no availability. If you don't do overtime when they ask, they act like the bank will never do a favor for you in the future to "flex time" (work another day instead of the scheduled one) if one comes up. They will have you drive into work when there is 2 feet of snow. (not kidding) Then they pretend like they are doing you a favor by offering you to flex for another day in concern for your safety. Again, if you are on a set schedule this does not work (especially for those with kids) There are a ton of different level positions and levels to work in with Bank of America. However, they do not always post all of the available jobs and getting transferred to another department is next to impossible. If you want to move up from your current position you need to : be top in sales and quality, never object to anything a manager or higher says, never go to the bathroom, drink the kool aid and be a brown noser. There is a lot of discrimination, ageism, sexism, among other things that gets swept under the rug in the workplace. Oh, and if you hit your sales goal, or crush your sales goal - don't expect a thank you. Expect a higher goal next month. You need to follow a billion different regulations to sell something, reading a book to a customer per product, and if you miss one word you lost your bonus.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great competitive pay- $16/hour with opportunities for raises and to move up in the company. Incentive bonuses that can be earned each quarter. Great benefits with dental and health insurance as well as a 401k. Extensive training with a positive mindset from the very beginning that continues throughout career. BOA really does care about their employees and recognizes them as well as rewards them for their successes. Will also accommodate those that may have set backs from sitting for long periods of time. Special discounts for concert tickets, hotels, airlines, etc.

    Cons

Taking calls all day, although most are pleasant, there will be of course the irate customers but the job is taking calls in the credit card department with a sales perspective as we are finding new solutions to help the client. Involves "digging" for sales at some points but there are also calls that clients are asking to do sales that will earn incentive, so it depends on your outlook with each call and how invested you are in helping them, you, your teammates, and the company. Need to be able to talk to people effectively and know the language of sales or the psychology. This is something I'm still struggling with but getting better. I didn't think that I would stay with the company long, but I still see opportunities to earn great things which makes me stay.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good salary and benefits. I guess you could say that there is a lot of opportunities to grow within the company, but that’s only if you get brainwashed into believing that the company really cares about helping people.

    Cons

Bonus structure has a lot of flaws, if you don’t hit 100% of your goal. you don’t get a payout. Recruiters lie to you and tell you its a 3K to 6k per quarter payout, but in reality, that’s not accurate, they somehow want employees with integrity, yet their recruiters don’t. Relationship managers are treated like they are children, they actually just get told by everyone in the financial center to do things, even tellers. Managers are so insecure because they don’t really know how to do the job and they tend on throwing others under the bus to protect their necks, it’s a pretty pathetic atmosphere.
