I have been working at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

Good hours, good pay, goes out of its way to take care of its employees, makes you feel like you 're part of a family, great benefits, opportunity for career growth, good work-life balance,

    Cons

Positions at all levels can be very unstable, but this is probably true of banking in general. Don't allow yourself to get too comfortable in a position and expect it to last forever. Be pro-active in seeking out new opportunities within the bank. Lots of new roles open up continually.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Often fantastic leadership who are eager to help their teams succeed. Lots of opportunity to advance and branch out into different lines of business. Great benefits. Opportunities to gain exposure to senior leadership. Diverse workforce amd a ton of employee networks catering to all kinds of interests.

    Cons

Very few cons, really. Customer service can be difficult when client expectations do not align with our product or service features. Occasionally you end up working with someone who behabes selfishly or does not seem willing to work for the team's success. That's not the norm, though.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very good company to work for with many great opportunities for growth. When relocating for personal reasons it was very easy to transfer and work in other states. Managers in all department were helpful and very knowledgeable. Tuition reimbursement, child care and work life balance were part of the company's ways of showing they care about their associates. Great place to start a career.

    Cons

None at the time to report.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be great making BOA a great company.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Evolving Program: Optional new team structure for on-boarding financial advisor trainees
-Good Employee Benefits: Good health insurance options and employee discounts
-Great Training Program: Structured virtual and classroom trainings that prepare you for both licensing exams as well as sales trainings

    Cons

-High Account Minimums: Difficult for new account openings for financial advisors
-Extra Non-Paid Work: Potential to be forced to work longer hours than the industry regulated max
-Long Path to Success and Prosperity: If you are in the sole practitioner program it's difficult to graduate and make decent money

    Advice to Management

BAML should require all new financial advisor trainees entering the PMD program to be on a team rather than allowing them to be a sole practioner. If a trainee has never been in the wealth management business, a team structure provides a better opportunity to succeed and stay in the business to either grow with their team or go out on their own after a few years.
