I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are really good, such as Insurance options and daycare reimbursement and the hours which are great for work life balance

    Cons

Sales goals are ridiculously high, company does not care about customers, bankers feel more like car salesmen than really putting the client at the front of what we do

    Advice to Management

Start caring about customer service and put the clients first, stop trying to squeeze clients into buckets and giving them products they don’t need just to hit quota!

I worked at Bank of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They pay you a small $60k salary and if you are in a high traffic branch, you can make another $20 - $30k.

    Cons

Everything about this company. Change policy and procedures on a weekly basis. Three different managers that all have oversight will constantly be telling staff different information. Contradicting each other, so no matter who you listen to you upset the other two. They are the most f’ed up organization I have ever been associated with.

    Advice to Management

Staff branches with more workers and fire all the middle managers.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great hours, good benefits for health, child care, and legal advice

    Cons

With advances in technology, the retail banking industry is in a downturn. Ask yourself, when was the last time I've ever stepped into a bank? Bank of America understands more people are taking advantage of the technological conveniences that the banking industry has introduced to clients. However, they continue to increase their expectations of their frontline sales associates, aka Relationship Managers/Bankers. The goals are unattainable, and the minimum expectation when it comes to hitting sales goals is %100 or you don't get a quarterly bonus. This would be acceptable if the goals reflected the traffic that flows into your particular branch. However, the Relationship Managers who worked at the high traffic branch that I trained at had similar goals to what I have at a much slower branch. I've worked in my branch for almost a year and I have yet to get a bonus! On top of it all, Bank of America continues to eliminate branch personnel and slate their branches for less staffing, then brag about their "earnings" at the end of the year. It's obvious that the fewer people they employ the more money they will make, and the higher they set their goals the less they have to pay their sales employees in bonuses. This company is terrible, and they are only concerned with springing back from their disgraceful involvement in the financial crisis. Do yourself a favor and move on if you see an opening for any position with this company.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a fair wage and stop focusing on how much you've earned each quarter before you take care of the little guy. The people taking care of your clients on a day to day basis are the people you should be caring about most, and those are the people that deserve to get a bonus. Stop eliminating staff, convenient products and services just to save a dollar or make a dollar. Everyone knows you make your money in multiple ways, but if you're going to choose to be a "bank" then act like the people who put their money in your hands actually matter.

    Pros

You may have work life balance to some extent.

    Cons

Lot of internal politics and don't join as a contractor . Managers somehow fill in contractors than take in full time employees. Even if you interview full time you may be asked to join as a contractor . They let go contractors frequently.
