    Pros

Great team atmosphere--this is the place to work if you thrive by strategizing with team members to meet targets. This aspect of the job is what got me up in the morning.

    Cons

Unbelievable level of micro-management, not to mention cumbersome systems and procedures--I've worked in the financial services industry over fifteen years--never seen such archaic, time-sucking procedures! They say they want FSA's to give sound financial advice to clients, but they just want you to sell a client something--anything! If the client can fog a mirror, he/she had better not leave your desk without having heard at least one product pitched--from credit cards to auto loans to mortgages--not the investment planning and financial planning metric that guides true financial advisors! Only reinforces why people hate to get financial advice from a bank--the banker will just trying to find a quick transactional sale so they don't look bad on next week's sales report.

    Advice to Management

Stop threatening your associates with disciplinary action for not following the "policy du jour" you just implemented--we're more professional than that--we don't need to be scolded and cajoled--rather, treat financial professionals like the adults they are--they will gladly follow procedures--it's what professionals do.

I worked at Bank of America part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay wasn't the best but it sure does beat minimum wage.

    Cons

Considering that the bank is the busiest in the area it would be nice for management to consider chairs, it may not seem like a big deal to some but consider working for 8 hours in one position. I understand it is a bank and their are a lot of regulations to be followed but the assistant managers displaced their stress on tellers. Forget getting sick or an emergency happening, NO DAYS OFF. My coworker had to drop a quarter at school because she couldn't get the days off and she couldn't find another job.

    Advice to Management

Consider that we are human, not machines.

    Pros

Solid company that looks to have a stable future ahead.
If you are bi-lingual, they will love you
Room for advancement if you know who to kiss up to

    Cons

    Sales driven, but no commission
    Only hire part time tellers
If you are not bi-lingual, they will NOT want to hire/keep you

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Organized, consistent company with large volumes. Opportunities exist within the areas of operation for certain types or for those with certain connections.

    Cons

Regular layoffs; high risk of layoff in mortgage loan servicing sector; senior leadership is not always fair and does not honestly communicate upcoming changes and layoffs in advance. People are not paid what they are worth and annual raises and bonuses are tightly capped.

    Advice to Management

Be honest & straightforward about upcoming changes and sales of subsidiary companies (such as the Field Service Co. sale), and the impact such actions will have on associates. Offer larger annual bonus and increases to top performers.

I have been working at Bank of America as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Advice to Management

Step up the work ethics and allow more training in different areas for employees; also run a more efficient and professional office environment
