I have been working at Bank of America (More than a year)

    Pros

Branch managers are nice and always have your back.

    Cons

They are starting new system and put too much work on tellers. Tellers do not get paid enough for all the work load they have to do now.

I have been working at Bank of America part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits especially for college students, as long as I kept my grades up BofA would refund me up to $2500 every quarter. Not bad for a part time job.

    Cons

They push for too much sales, felt guilty selling credit cards to freshmans at colleges.

I worked at Bank of America (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They were very accommodating to my school schedule. Depending on branch, managers can be nice and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Pay compensation was very low to the amount of work that needed to be done. Lines were always long and out the door and managers did very little to help with line. Very old systems used and slow network which in turn would take a while to service customers. Certain managers would never be consistent and enforce rules upon other employees. Can become very frustrating.Culture was terrible and felt like a school. Conference calls would be area wide and calling out employees on 'low numbers' and discuss what they need to do to improve while everyone else listens uncomfortably.

    Advice to Management

Give help to a team and add more tellers to help with the line. Instead of being too strict on numbers, be more aware of customer's needs and wants. Stop with the public conference calls and putting employees on the spot with their bad performance.

I worked at Bank of America part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Thorough training,Overtime.

The training takes a while, but is thorough and teaches you the foundation for which the federal policies work.

    Cons

Does not encourage personal growth, managers can be pushy and pressure you to sell accounts.

    Advice to Management

As a teller, people skills are critical. Encourage your tellers to improve their ability to build rapport. Create a module for and integrate interpersonal skills into your training.
