I worked at Bank of America part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Training was very in depth. I had no prior banking experience and after 3 weeks of training I felt very prepared to succeed at my job. Management was very supportive.

    Cons

Very high turnover at both the personal banking side and the teller positions. This can be very difficult because you are then understaffed or working alongside someone with little experience. It always seemed like we were understaffed while I worked there which causes clients to have to wait in longer lines, which then sours their mood by the time they get to the teller window.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the amazing talent that the employees are able to bring to the company, instead of viewing them simply as a number.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is very good, benefits are amazing thanks to being a mega-cap with pricing power, flexibility is very nice and Bank of America is staying on the forefront of 21st century trends in flex hours and remote work capabilities.

    Cons

Bank of America is a soul-sucking, heartless corporation that treats its employees as disposable commodities that can easily be replaced at a fraction of the cost. They always talk about a culture of "pay for performance" but this is a complete lie..."pay for pulse" rules the day.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hours were banker hours, which was nice.

    Cons

Company seemed to not be employee driven. Tellers were not treated well even though we dealt with 90% of the customers who walked into the branch.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great social and professional groups to join, good leadership, great technology and decent compensation. They were very supportive when I had to move out of state.

    Cons

When staffing is light it is typically hard to get support. Could use a more aggressive approach to staffing. Seems to be an area of opportunity for retail banking.
