I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Decent benefits package Some opportunities to get real training Highly skilled teammates to learn from Fee bank accounts

      Cons

Senior management just doesn't care about employees, or their careers Long hours, and expectation you'll go the extra mile Absolutely zero career guidance... and I mean ZERO! They are now taking anti-Teleworker stance, so bad work life balance

      Advice to Management

I worked for the bank for almost 2 decades. When you work for a company with good management, they will try to help you grow, so it can benefit the company and help them grow in their careers as well, not just your own grown. The bank is nothing like that unfortunately. Some senior managers were actually quite good, but once you get to the director and executive levels, they really don't care about their people or...

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Career progression, stability, great employer in terms of work/personal life balance. Educational expense reimbursement and great health care.

      Cons

Too huge of a company to know the senior management on first name basis. Too hard to navigate.

      Advice to Management

keep doing what you are doing. 2 thumbs up.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Work from home, salary, corporate culture

      Cons

Lots of layers of management makes getting things done a pain due to getting approvals up the chain

      Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Stability, generally good internal processes, generally good benefits.

      Cons

No real pension plan. Low pay. Large amount of outsourcing. Focus on maximizing short-term profits and minimizing operational costs harms long-term sustainability. Difficult to advance. Internal politics rather than data drive to many moves.

      Advice to Management

Need a better focus on the long-term quality and performance of the company rather than simply the next quarterly numbers. They also need to spread out the huge salaries and bonuses given to upper management and the investment teams to the rest of the employees to provide the support they need to succeed. I would recommend that the salary spread between lowest and highest paid employees be no more than 25 times, including...
