I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great developmental programs for associates.

    Cons

Lack of structure to allow full growth potentials.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and really observe where you are in terms of growth and what will it take to update your workforce according to customer needs in 2015.

    Pros

    1) Pay, historically has been good, though is sliding recently. 2) It's big: In the current environment, it's good to be at one of the large, surviving players, and Bank of America is that. 3) Broad and deep product and geographic diversification---good in terms of product to sell, and also good just for the sake of diversifications.

    Cons

Communication from management is poor; support and investment in techology is lagging (in my area). There is a lot of uncertainty, involving completion of some questionable acquisitions. There is a rather parochial, Charlotte and inward-focussed culture, rather than acting like, or aspiring to truly be a global bank.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more often, more completely. Don't cut corners on suport, technology spending, investment. Don't condescend to the employees.
