I worked at Bank of America part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Two back to back calls, mainly personal, about 15 minutes each, A lot of questions on specific resume work, I was surprised that there weren't as many technicals, a couple questions on how the different financial statements are linked together. Overall it was a pretty easy process and more of a coversation

    Cons

Very difficult to have time off

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Co-workers (not management or market leader) and benefits. 5 pm when we get off!

    Cons

Pressure to sell the moment a customer walks in, forced to analyze their accounts and finances so you could sell them products, corrupt practices in order to get an incentive, incentives for referrals caused employees to manipulate customers, customers angry at BOA and come to bank and let you have it, very high stress makes it impossible to perform at your best, I saw management lie to customers, was told I would work 2 Saturdays a month - its every Saturday. I was also told incentives were easy - they are not. From the beginning they woe you with how great BOA is. They do that because the turnover is so high. The Academy training is awful!!! It's all online and some doesn't even apply. Straight computer training for 6 weeks - information is thrown at you. This is not learning! Please beware and do your homework. I will never bank here and I will tell everyone I know how corrupt and UGLY this bank is. This bank will take advantage of you every step of the way he the name of money. Culture doesn't exist here - it's a grind with low morale and regard for the company.

I worked at Bank of America

    Pros

The pay is good and you are recognized for the work you do

    Cons

The cons highly overweigh the pros here’s a list: - Poor management - they expect you to be perfect in everything you do so if you mess up then management will talk down to you and make you feel disposable - very strict, i was written up for being 3 minutes late to work - very strict again with the way they do things, you must do things how your management says or else you get yelled at - there is little to no freedom in the workplace, you can never be in your phone, even after all you work is caught up and there are no customers. You’re suppose to sit around and stare at each other. - the management at the branch i worked at off olive blvd in st. louis was so awful i really honestly hope that not all bofa’s are the same because then I feel sorry for anyone involved in the company. - the management at my branch would always make you feel disposable no matter how hard you worked - you do not get treated as an equal by management - i felt uncomfortable at work the whole time I was not able to be myself around management - bofa doesn’t let the branches turn down the ac very much so if you get to work at branch with glass over the teller line, you will hate it. I would get heat rashes and become dehydrated often.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good people and many good managers

    Cons

You are expected to do the work of 2 or 3 people. No longer retaining top talent. Sr. Mgt. talks the talk but does not walk the walk.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent benefits and training to perform your job. Lots of different locations and opportunities for job navigation, if you have right connections.

    Cons

Inconsistent management style at the local level, with some acting very unprofessionally. Very hard to navigate systems for associates to use.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Benefits such as health, childcare, educational the company also has a good match for 401k. This is a good company for someone starting as a teller. I wouldn't recommend for higher educated individual or professional.

    Cons

Bad management; no emotional intelligence, very selfish and greedy. Also, company is cutting staffing which upsets clients furthermore the clients take it out on employees.

I worked at Bank of America for more than a year

    Pros

Compensation Benefits Numerous contact with potential new clients

    Cons

Bank of America and Merrill Edge management are not on the same page Bank of America management still has a mentality that you should be selling one product every time you meet with a customer while the sales cycle for the brokerage industry takes time. Most of the banking staff is miserable at their jobs and after a few months are looking for new jobs thus getting their buy in for teamwork is very difficult The compliance is over the top and constantly has you on egg shells.
