I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Some of the great things are their internal employee networks and programs. There is a ton of self help curriculum and job improvement tools.

    Cons

One of the cons is the NEED to utilize those self help tools as management continues to lower cost through location strategies, system decommissioning, AI and BOT enhancements. These indirect business decisions impact various areas in addition to a reduction in resources.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Interaction across several groups within the business (operations, technology, risk, front office), several opportunities to get involved in projects and break up the day to day

    Cons

Inefficient processes, mismanaged offshoring, political, bad management

    Advice to Management

Better oversight of the offshoring process, monitor workload across teams, improve hiring practices to attract strong performers, establish a better culture- much more emphasis is placed on mistakes rather than recognizing a job well done, ingraining the message “everyone is replaceable” is not motivating to employees

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Good benefits, predictable, a lot of different ways to get involved through minority groups, and you get to work with a lot of smart people.

    Cons

A lot of decisions are influenced by politics at a higher level, and in some groups the hours and work load can be very heavy.

    Advice to Management

Try to move away from politics and promote an atmosphere of information sharing and collaboration between teams. Also, recognition for hard work.

Stable large company that is position for long-term growth. Terrific benefit package that trumps most offered in the area. Lots of opportunities across the country.

    Cons

Classic difficulties found in large organizations. Change occurs very slowly. Lots of individuals with great vision but often slow to reach objectives.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Some of the smartest teammates I have ever worked with. Team oriented group where everyone pitched in and had a strong work ethics. Supportive direct Managers and good Senior Managers in area as well.

    Cons

Experience will vary depending on area. My last two managers were amazing .Mixed bag of managers in prior areas including a tolerance for unprofessional behavior with no consequences. Being it is a large company this is the only downside, if you find a group that is a good fit for you, the experience is more positive.

    Advice to Management

To senior execs do not reward bad managers by moving them to other areas, they should be managed out of organization.
