I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Overall given the size of the organization thought they did a good job of getting the culture right. I would describe people I worked with as professional, respectful, good normal people. Felt I could work with everyone I encountered at BofA no problem. Had great work life balance.

    Cons

Like any large company there will be some slow / tedious processes, but think people try to strike a balance of efficient but risk managing. At least I could appreciate the rationale for why things are certain ways. A con is in some areas thought there was not a whole lot of upward mobility, although sometimes that could be ok if you are after work-life balance.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

BofA has great benefits and personal development opportunities, including active employee networks and mentoring programs. The bank is also great about encouraging employees to get broad experience and not become stuck on one team.

    Cons

Bureaucracy and politics are still alive and well at the bank. Hard to find roles that feel meaningful without giving up all semblance of work - life balance. The CFO org is especially discouraging to be a part of, with a special policy of requiring you to "prove yourself" by performing a promoted role for an undefined length of time before you are eligible for the compensation and title that go with the role.
