I have been working at Bank of England full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good level of responsibility Good support network Flexible Working Opportunities for development

    Cons

None - I think this was a great place for an industrial placement. However going forward salaries can be lower than private companies but this is balanced by an excellent work/life balance.

I worked at Bank of England for more than a year

    Pros

-very inclusive and supportive of staff as an institution. -lots of opportunities to meet other teams, attend seminars. -generally provide good system for allowing placement students to meet each other. -flexible and reasonable working hours.

    Cons

-pay is not great for London, the fact that placements only last a year means nobody exists to argue for pay increase on behalf on placement students, seem to be somewhat forgotten and left behind in terms of pay. -Very archaic management process, leaves your experience very much up to chance as to whether you can do well. -Very different expectations of students in different areas. HR probably need to do more detailed research into what areas expect from students and if the team is suitable to get a placement student.
