    Pros

Great benefits, friendly people - really do try to make sure that you understand what you are doing and help you along the way.

    Cons

Management in Ireland not great in communicating the truth to their employees. Mislead in where the company is going and their compensation to their employees.

    Pros

Very Casual Environment. Easy to communicate on a personal level with management.

    Cons

Lack of Strategic vision of management that limits future growth of busines. Due to this lack of vision, I feel that the company long term success has been greatly compromised and therefore the future growth of the employees (raises, training, learning, etc.) has been reduced much lower than it should have been.

    Advice to Management

Work towards recognizing opportunities and taking calculated risks for greater rewards

I worked at Bank of Ireland (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Location, other staff are friendly, Steady employment, good annual leave and healthcare. Good canteen

    Cons

No development opportunities, no bonus, low salary compared to industry, most management work 3 days and spend the other two in Belfast, Dublin or Bristol

    Advice to Management

Start to pay your staff properly, including bonus, sharesave or some other shceme. Also, attempt to promote from within instead of just parachuting people in from other companies!

    Pros

    Great team, good hours.

    Cons

bad money and no chance of promotion.

    Advice to Management

Higher starter wage as the workload does not match the wage in the slightest. The place also needs a mix up. Favorites are extremely evident.

I worked at Bank of Ireland full-time

    Pros

The general culture within BOI is friendly and professional. The buildings and workplaces are decent and conducive to a nicer working environment.

    Cons

There is a general lack of urgency for change.
Middle management can often be badly trained and tend to lack the core skills for the management of the staff reporting to them.
Pay rises and pay in general has been stagnant since 2008 and whilst the bank's financials have improved somewhat, pay rises are drip fed at a lowly 2 or 3 % a year if you are lucky.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the administrative and resource hungry interim and final year review process. Properly reward staff that remained with the company since 2008.
