I have been working at Bank of Marin full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Generous leave policy for family events.

    Cons

Salaries are sub par for the area they do business in. Benefits are very expensive for a family.

    Advice to Management

Management runs a lean company, great for investors, not so much for the common worker.

I have been working at Bank of Marin full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working for the Bank has been one if the most rewarding experiences of my life. My co-workers are great, my relationship with everyone is encouraging and I have no issue working whatever hours are needed to get the job done. The community investment makes you feel good about the company success. You build relationships under this roof and they are the kind that do not fade quickly, even as people move on or retire. Since I have been with the bank, I have learned a great deal and it is knowledge that will serve me not just as part of my job, but as an employee as a whole.

    Cons

I have been with the bank for several years, and although I have had above average reviews for each year with no disciplinary history, my raises and increases in responsibility and position have been mediocre. The Bank likes to pile a lot of work on their employees as 'other duties' and pay the bare minimum for the official title you hold. Although they will tell you they are competitive for the area, it is based on a comparative average of affluent areas such as Marin and Sonoma, and the other, low cost of living areas such as Vallejo and Richmond. As a result, high-earners can take part in the 401k program and other benefits, while lower-rate workers, or single income families have little to no chance of investing in their future if they are in a high cost-of-living area. The disparity in wages and company investment is painfully obvious, with sales and loans people on the pedestal, while the beating heart of the support those same sales people receive, have to fight tooth and nail to get a single percentage added to their raise.

    Advice to Management

Reward loyalty. People love working for the Bank, but when cost-of-living is not taken into account, employees will look for greener pastures, because every year they end up in a worsened position. Service and hard work should be rewarded in kind, not used to hold your staff hostage to their loyalties while they struggle to invest in their future. Close the favoritism gap. Your sales folks make money, because their support in clerical, technological and informational systems are run by some of the finest operational staff I have ever worked with. Reward them accordingly.

I have been working at Bank of Marin full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Senior management truly cares for employees. Love the all staff meetings. Great opportunity to hear from all levels of employees. Recognizes staff for legendary service.

    Cons

Can't think of any cons for this bank. All that I know is that when issues are brought up to senior management. They address it immediately and make a true effort to resolve or address the issues.

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind salary have changed in the bay area. And hopefully we can get in line to be more competitive.

I have been working at Bank of Marin (More than a year)

    Pros

Bottom line?? The fellow employees you will meet! There are so many amazing individuals that work for this company who are fun, loving and supportive.

    Cons

Senior management basically sucks! They have no interest in motivating their employees and investing in them at all. The training sucks as well and morale is extremely low throughout the bank.

    Advice to Management

None because it won't get anywhere ....
