    Pros

I am currently a college student, and the pay was higher than at other locations, I enjoyed being able to work in an office setting, and the other tellers/front-line staff are very nice.

    Cons

Supervisors and upper management have problems relating to employees, praise is rarely given for a job well done, and mistakes are nearly unacceptable.

    Advice to Management

I think managers and other people in places of authority should definitely be reevaluated. My manager was very condescending to the tellers and front-line staff and it was extremely hard to tolerate.

I worked at Bank of the Ozarks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-My branch manager was very polite and open with me
-Company was about to improve employee benefits ($1-for-$1 401K matching)
-Good learning experience for young professionals
-Potential to grow into hiring earning positions

    Cons

    -Released after mentor program
-A lot of pressure on tellers for low pay
-Mentor trainer seemed offended when I asked questions about the company I was hired to work for
    -

    Advice to Management

Prepare employees who are going into their first full-time job what to expect in the mentor training program. My manager seemed enthusiastic about receiving me, but had to let me go after being inaccurately informed I was unprofessional and performed poorly with my mentor.

I have been working at Bank of the Ozarks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company stocks has performed well over the last several. All officers received stocks which helped to make up for the below market salaries that the company pays.

    Cons

Micro-management from the very top down. Company demands absolute loyalty from employees with zero given in return. Below market wages. CEO with an ego greater than that of Donald Trump. Anyone who even hinted that George Gleason may be wrong about something will soon find themselves unemployed.

    Advice to Management

Dial down the ego and listen to front line employees.

I have been working at Bank of the Ozarks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Monday thru Friday operations.

    Cons

Lean staff and very underpaid for the work load. Benefits are not great. Pay is below compared to other banks.

    Advice to Management

Hire more personnel to assist in providing efficient customer service and Teller transactions. This is a microwave society and custmers want quick quality service. Another headquarters need to be in Charlotte to assist the new banks that were bought. Branch managers should focus on new businesses and proper management rather than Teller transactions die to short staff.

    Cons

    Lack of pay
    Lack of competitive benefits
Expect way too much in small amount of time
    No incentive program

    Advice to Management

Pay people for how hard they work.
Suck it up and pay employees health premiums and come up with incentive plan that is how you will keep employees

    Pros

Acquire new customers, turn non-active customers into producing customers, building a strong client base

    Cons

No set territory so you always had to check your leads with the "keeper of the customer list". It had no confidential information which should have been easily accessible to check your leads so you did not call on existing customers as prospects. Another disadvantage was the keeper of the list did not always know how to look up customers correctly.

    Advice to Management

You need to empower your employees so they can do their piece of the overall puzzles with less hinderence. Also, everything seemed secrectivewhich led people to lie and set other people up to take the fall and be fired when a second chance was the proper thing to do especially when I am a loyal and trustworthy person to my employer.

    Pros

Your fellow co-workers are normally a joy to work with, and work is normally pretty easy.

    Cons

Low pay, high workload, growing at too fast of a pace.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Bank of the Ozarks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Customers are great. Easy job. Benefits aren't great but could be worse. Typical benefits given, vacation, sick time, STD and LTD.

    Cons

Local management is horrible. Only out for themselves. Nepotism is horrible and chain of command can't be bothered with the issues. Very similar to high school with gossiping and whispering about coworkers. The bank is trying to grow entirely to fast without fixing the current issues before buying more banks.

    Advice to Management

Listening to your employees would be great. Not management. Your employees that actually do the work. Do something about reprimanding poor managers instead of turning a blind eye and letting them continue to do as they please.
