    Pros

Overall I enjoyed my work day. The team I worked with was great and everyone got along. The hours weren't horrible and the sales goals were low.

    Cons

No Full Time positions in the teller line unless you were a manager. Getting extra hours, even as a part timer, was difficult. I was barely allowed over 28 hours even when we were understaffed. Also, no benefits as a part timer.

I have been working at BankFinancial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good atmosphere and good training. pay for travel expenses when needed. All major holidays the bank is closed. "Possible" room for growth

    Cons

They push cross sales and new accounts down our throats
Pay could be more competitive. I don't ever want to be in a position like they were at Wells Fargo
Always changing account types and requirements. And not for the better. Employee turnover is really high. This place used to be a great place to work. Not lately.

    Advice to Management

Money is a strong motivator. They ask us to give, give, give, but don't ever compensate us ever. They just recently took away salary for teller managers. Not a very good morale booster. Sales goals are not fair. North region is significantly slower and Lower volume than south region yet goals are the same. The only true positive is the training system in place. The current trainer is a delight. Has tought me a lot about banking that ultimately I will probably utilize at another financial institution that pays better.

    Pros

Paychecks cleared. Good work-life balance. Easy job responsibilities.

    Cons

Nothing gets done without the ultimate approval of the CEO. Upper management is afraid of change doesn't trust decision making capabilities of anyone without a 'Senior' or 'Chief' job title. This bottlenecks every aspect of work flow and hinders broader initiatives for growth\internal improvement due to lack of time. If you come into this company looking for career growth\promotion\internal job advancement you will be disappointed.

Lack of employee engagement: show up at 9 leave at 5; cash paycheck every 2 weeks. This is the mentality of most employees. No efforts are made to improve antiquated and inefficient business processes, due fear of change and the aforementioned decision making centralization. Any initiative is a waste of time here. No company culture or values to speak. For a $1.5B bank, it is still run like a singe branch community S&L. The upside to this is a great work\life balance. But again at the cost of employee engagement\advancement.

    Advice to Management

Delegate decision making to middle management or bring in business analysts to improve internal workflow. Don't accept status-quo. America is a market based economy. Its sink or swim. Organizations must constantly strive to improve or get eaten by the competition. The survival of the fittest adage applies here.

I worked at BankFinancial full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It paid the paycheck on time and in most cases it also paid commission on time, although there were times when that did not occur. They offered benefits.

    Cons

Most hires are for a brief period of time and not many contacts enjoy the organization or feel that they are listened to or able to have their input considered.

    Advice to Management

Improve profits or get a new management team. - it has been too long

    Pros

    Good work/life balance
    Health benefits not outrageous

    Cons

No reward for good performance. In fact, performance reviews were eliminated over 5 years ago.

Outdated systems and resistance to change
    Employee morale low
    Zero chance of advancement

    Advice to Management

Not all employees are created equal. Identify good employees and do what it takes to keep them.
