    Pros

Great work environment, Employees truly worked as a team no matter what department, Strong Management Support

    Cons

Company Execs stayed in legal trouble, Company lacked Sales incentives, limited product options for customers, Sales reps only allowed to promote specific products regardless of client needs.. in other words, a print rep wasn't allowed to sell digital, and so forth

    Advice to Management

Less red tape when it comes to making suggestions for change,

Ability to maintain creative independence and avoid micromanagement, a lot of trust from local executive team to identify new & better ways to problem solve. Lots of company events & perks. Really strong team environment.

    Cons

Discord among senior executive team, stagnation on projects that would have driven revenue and results

    Advice to Management

Get to know the key operatives of your team & executive leadership, then work hard to achieve them.

I worked at Bankrate (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, great work environment, great office set up, great fringe benefits - breakfast items, coffee/tea/hot cocoa, soda, etc.

    Cons

New Senior management team that joined the company within the last 12-18 months made extreme changes across all departments and most haven't gone well and the departments are struggling. The amount of $$ being spent on the changes to personnel and new programs/software/systems for these departments are outrageous. Bankrate used to be so frugal and ran very lean, not the case anymore. It was so disheartening to see a position/employee released and then a replacement brought in at a much higher salary and they can't accomplish half of what the prior employee had done.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management should know to take the time to gather all information on processes/employees prior to making changes. The should not just jump into a change without getting the background info...it doesn't tend to end up with positive results when handled this way - just ask current employees

  8. "Good work"

    Pros

Easy if you start off knowing basics of finance and economics, or want to learn. Editors are willing to teach you. Just ask.

    Cons

9-5 at the desk. If you dislike that, don't work here. Their website makes it hard to make cool stuff for the web.

    Advice to Management

Management treats employees well. As someone who worked with the website and wanted to add cool stuff to it, it was disappointing how difficult it was.

I have been working at Bankrate full-time

    Pros

Great people at the company, you'll enjoy the company of (almost) everyone you work with. Pay is solid, benefits are pretty good too.

    Cons

Used to be a great, new management has come in and the whole environment has changed. Morale not as high as it used to be.

    Advice to Management

With management changes, it's hard not to feel like your job is always in jeopardy.

    Pros

Nothing Pro about this place. It's a job that pays a fair salary.

    Cons

As you can see from the recent bad press, the crows have come home to roost.

    Advice to Management

Quit or remove yourself from the company. Starting with the CIO.
