I have been working at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, good pay for the job

    Cons

Management needs much to be desired, forced overtime and turnover rate is 67%.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees more, at least with the dietary department. We see the patients just as much as the healthcare staff do.

I worked at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

FNS management none. Dedicated Baptist employees are the sole reason for the few successes behind this ticking time bomb department.

    Cons

Unrealistic workload expectations. No personable interaction or support from Foodservice management with their staff. Tools and coaching are not provided for staff resulting in underachievement of customer service standards.

    Advice to Management

Where do we start with this train wreck. Staff workload expectations are high however upper management report to work late and leave early while other team members may be struggling with assigned tasks. It is widely known that several members of upper management are having affairs with one another. Finally, the Kitchen management can be extremely unprofessional, biased against women, uses profanity and bullying to try and intimidate the kitchen staff. You are better off to stay away from this unethical management team until issues are resolved which will benefit the staff, patients and customers alike.

I have been working at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling. Coworkers are so-so. Long drive depending on where you are located in the city.

    Cons

Community based so pay is EXTREMELY low. I only took the job because of the schedule.

    Advice to Management

Management seems to be fair from my experience, but I have only worked in this department about 6 months.

    Pros

Great team , plenty of supplies. Gain a lot of expeadvance rotate holidays year to year. Extra pay on weekends

    Cons

No room for advancement.sceldule about 12 weeks in advance .short staffed Or sent home if patient ratio isnt good enough just to get called back in hours later. Expensive insurange if you have family.

    Advice to Management

Make staff feel like they are not just another body. If staffing and budget changes ,offer other postions that are open instead of making them apply to each position.Or give them more than 30 days to do so.
